Oldies lost their goodies, young-uns were offered lots of goodies, and their parents benefited too, plus May wobble and had no chat.
That, plus the arrogance and hubris of the campaign, you could see how seats could be lost. But not *those* seats, and I'm astonished Labour have advanced so far under bloody Corbyn.
Whatever happens, the Cameroons have to be brought back in from the cold. Gove needs a big role and we need Osborne back, maybe he can stand in Maidenhead when Theresa stands down.
What's Osborne going to offer ?
Higher student fees ? Higher house prices ? More borrowing to fund vanity projects ?
Support from social liberals. Theresa May has taken us for granted with her shit policies. While the socialist liberal, fiscally dry wing of the party is small, there are enough of us that they need us to turn out. Loads of people I know weren't happy with her but voted out of a sense of duty. Over a whole country that translates into a lot of lost votes and a swing to Labour in seats like Battersea and even Canterbury where we did awfully among young people.

The little piece of analysis ITV just did suggests that shouldn't be overestimated. It's true Labour made up ground amongst the Oldies, but the big swings were in areas where there was a strong Young vote.

I think his arsing about trolling tezza in the campaign is yet another example of his being too clever for his own good. He didn't foresee a result so finely balanced that his sabotage might have made a difference, just as he didn't foresee the tory maj of 2015 and having to perform on the euref guarantee or the long-term problems caused by the ftpa, or indeed anything much. He is useless, lazy and treacherous.
Tories have won Mansfield. Not surprised, husband's home town, both his grandads were miners, family labour to their core but mum in law told me she'd voted Tory this time. Really anti Corbyn, pro Brexit constituency.
