    It is quite likely that Phillip Hammond will go down as a better Chancellor than the gimmicky Sunil.
    If you look at Rory Stewart CV before entering politics it is at least interesting compared to all of the current cabinet except maybe the Defence Secretary.The fact there are probably plenty of PB readers never mind the public who would struggle to actually name who the Defence Secretary is tells you something about his limited political skills.Which is a pity as the Tories desperately need to find Cabinet ministers who can actually get things done .

      I had to check on wiki to discover that Ben Wallace is defence secretary so your point is proved.

      I was a middling supporter of Hammond when he was Chancellor but I suspect he wouldn't have the flexibility to deal with current circumstances. Oddly some mainstream Conservatives - David Herdson for example - didn't rate Hammond.
