    Seems like quite a few labour gains in the south. Not enough to make up for bad night elsewhere bur enough to save a smidgeon of face in England at least?

    A lot of councils are counting tomorrow so it may be too early to form a definitive view on how things are going based on the results so far.

    In all honesty apart from Scotland I feel underwhelmed, I don't have a sense of how bad things really may be for Labour elsewhere.
