A very disappointing trickle of results so far and presumably there are only a very few more likely to be announced in the early hours so I'm off to bed!
And the Eurozone imploding would give the Boy Genius an excuse for missing his fiscal targets!
Boy George seems to have the targets under control at the moment and also to be on the right side of expectations.
But anyone looking at Spain will not see any organic solution coming. Especially when no one is willing to pump in the kind of money needed to keep them afloat. Add Italy and France to the list and a real crisis is brewing.

The Somerset and Eastleigh gains by UKIP are odd in Lib Dem country.
Er, you didn't notice the historic UKIP performance in the Eastleigh by-election, then?
Derrr.
I missed that one, Sean!
What I was hoping to do was to entice Mark Senior out of his book of coins to help explain what is going on in terms of relative swings and local conditions.
Early results and prima facie, it looks as if the Tories have been better at resisting UKIP in the South West than the Lib Dems.
Validating this assumption is important as Lib Dem strength in the South and South West is one of the keys to the 2015 election.
And I am far too thick and lazy to get to grips with the details.
Agree, I've done worse too. She'll be surprised by the number of hits on her blog overnight. It looks the sort that gets one visit a month from her mum out of loyalty. We'll easily have doubled the yearly traffic stats.
Many thanks for that link. I was based in Hampshire during my short time living in the UK and I recognise some of the names of those Councillors from 20 years ago. At least a couple I remember must be in their 80's by now. A bit of a trip down memory lane - cheers!
Ed's One Nation malarkey went down well in Hampshire.
Well I've done a quick sample of the Somerset wards as well and except where Labour won the odd seat it looks as if they are down in 4th place there as well. I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of tomorrow Labour are the fourth party of the Southern counties

Has the 'like' option gone? There have been good postings from across the political spectrum on local election thread.
When it's quiet, the devil makes work for idle typists, Mr. Labour. Bring along an election night and everybody enjoys it and remembers why we are really here!

No prob. I wonder how hard it would be for PB to have its own election results page to best the BBC. We could have people assigned to each council to add results for each ward etc...
Conservatives need seven of the last 8 seats in Lincolnshire to retain control of council. UKIP now on 16 seats and have taken most of the Lincolnshire East coast. Boston & Skegness Constituency must be a target in 2015.
It looks like the Cons will hold Hertfordshire fairly easily. They held their seats in St. Albans. They lost Borehamwood North to Labour, but held South comfortably, which Labour should have won back. I think UKIP did almost as much harm to Lab as to Con in South. Conservative 6 out of 7 in Hertsmere with UKIP second in 5.
Thanks. You don't happen to know which councils have boundary changes. Just wanted to add a column to my sheet so the numbers make sense. From the numbers you just gave, it would suggest Essex lost 1.

We need to adopt her and promote her cause!
I expected Tosca Sofia to be more glamorous
Encouraging, yes, but 'breaking the mould'? Nah... They're not even doing as well as the SDP...
Anyone remember them?
She's quite good looking by my standards.
Clearly the Euro list (or the next euro list) is where we, as her newly self-appointed career consultants should be directing her.
