I'm watching on Sky News's YouTube live feed and I wondered what would happen if I changed the speed to x2. It seemed to speed up, which I can't understand if it's live...
Impressive statement. Clearly a few moments when the emotion almost got to her. Plus the idiot shouting did not help.
This will play well with average voters.
Then you were watching a different statement to many people. Remainers will be unhappy. Core Leavers will be unhappy. I think the middle is not going to be a happy place.
All pointless theatre - she won't get it through the Commons.
Theatre is for entertainment. I see this more akin to going through the necessary process for filing an appeal or application for something - sure, the outcome is pretty darn certain, but you have to go through the required steps before you will be allowed to move on to the next one.

The middle hopes the eejits on both sides will get behind he deal

Digital feeds are often a long way behind live. A few evenings back the batteries died on our LW radio. It time me a short while to get the phone out, start up the BBC iPlayer radio app, find R4 and start it playing - by which point the digital feed was, oh, still about half a minute behind the broadcast at the point at which the batteries died.
One day I might compare the pips on the hour to exactly quantify the difference, but I wouldn't use them to set your clocks if you have an internet radio.

The middle is not large enough in the Commons.
Turning and turning in the widening gyre The falcon cannot hear the falconer; Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.
1) May got her way with one or more resignations. 2) May herself was forced to resign with a majority of the Cabinet opposed. 3) May got full Cabinet agreement.
This is her optimum solution and I suspect the Cabinet have decided hanging together is better than hanging separately.
As to how this deal will be "sold" - if the only line is it's better than No Deal, fine, but that won't you very far. Some may reasonably ask after 18 months of negotiation if this was really the best we could do.
Well, they cannot cry about how unfair it was they were threatened with having to take a taxi back from Chequers as a reason why they backed in initially then changed their minds.
There's rather a gap between between how WG and James put it
But it's important because there are some on the Tory benches who are absolutely convinced that it is only a choice between deal or no deal. Adding the 'no Brexit' option may be key to convincing enough wavering Brexiteers to support the deal (or at least abstain).
I think we can all agree that the PR campaign has to start now. May has to forego her usual tight-lipped approach or find others who can do it for her.
All pointless theatre - she won't get it through the Commons.
I am not so sure
You're an optimistic chap. But why would the DUP change their minds? Why would the ERG? Why would Labour MPs?
Just the narrative will grow that to take it down risks no deal
Also Barnier to speak at 8.00pm
Labour seem clear on this at least, that officially they think no deal is a bluff. I do not think it is, and I think saying it is is deeply irresponsible, but we know how much Labour rebels still hate voting withing the government. They'll buy it.
Wasn't it Jim Hacker who said, 'My Cabinet took a unanimous decision,' only for Sir Humphrey to point out that was becuase Hacker said he he would sack anyone who didn't agree?
All pointless theatre - she won't get it through the Commons.

If May's got any sense then she'll get the vote scheduled before the ECJ rules on A50 revocation. If that gets upheld then the threat of deal or no deal goes away.
That stance has been clear for quite some time. I don't think it is inherently unreasonable, even though it being the opposite of what she once said is unreasonable. If people believe no deal is so bad, then they should believe any deal is better, unfortunately. If they actually think no deal is not as bad as people say, then it is also not unreasonable to think no deal is better than a bad deal.
All pointless theatre - she won't get it through the Commons.

If NPXMPX2 is right then there are six Lab MPs likely to vote with the government. Sounds about right.

On that - the hearing is Nov 27th, correct? But presumably no-one expects an actual judgement on that day do they?

May's a total waste of space when it comes to "communicating" with the voters (hence her bizarre performance a moment ago) her "selling" anything is a total non-starter...
Is a record kept of how the cabinet voted for future historians, or is it always secret?
I don't think the cabinet officially votes on anything - it's always a collective decision - so there would be no record as theoretically there's nothing to record.

We’re leaving, and SeanT will win his bet.

Now it will be up to EU capitals to agree the 500 pages and then the lost vote in Commons.

Will this be her Chanak - and will Boris be Baldwin at the Carlton Club?

There were three possible outcomes today:
1) May got her way with one or more resignations.
2) May herself was forced to resign with a majority of the Cabinet opposed.
3) May got full Cabinet agreement.
This is her optimum solution and I suspect the Cabinet have decided hanging together is better than hanging separately.

Only a mere 5 years 51 weeks and 1 day since he was convicted.
The lying toerag can go peddle his bullshit in Ghana instead of hawking his pretendy remorse around gullible fools here.
Vengeance is a dish best eaten cold and I am going to enjoy my dinner tonight, I can tell you.
Smile!
EDIT. That's really what happened. It isn't a metaphor.

Do you have a secret man crash on Boris, or is it just the crush part you're interested in?
Leave it longer and it might be more tender...
