what sort of swing to Tories needed for an overall maj? Is this out of question now? Might 4.2% be enough?0
-
Since Labour didn't make the slightest attempt in five years to reach out to southern England, it is hardly surprising to see swings away from them in southern marginals. Some of us pointed this out when Labour sat out by-elections in Eastleigh and Rochester & Strood and were pooh-poohed. This is the result.0
-
You can still get great value on a tory majority0
-
What a shame IOS' internet connection is down on this night of all nights.0

I find it quite strange that many Tories here think a Conservative minority administration will be stable. Arguably, this situation gives the Right of the Tories far more power than they ever had in the last five years. LD MPs acted as a buffer zone to the Tory Right; and Cameron could afford to not have all his MPs vote for laws in the Commons'. Now, he'll need practically all of them to do it. I think Fenster is right; this will prove to be a very pyrrhic victory for David Cameron.Philip_Thompson said:
