Two words would have sufficed from Liz to Suella, and the second one is "off".
Suella will make an excellent Dictator one day!
They need to get their shit together for a couple of months (days even, would help), before one gets called, but I no longer think we're getting to 2024.
Just let us get to November and publication of the revised English Parliamentary boundaries at least, those poor buggers deserve their work to be seen.
Except it’s not funny.
NAME, PURPOSE, OBJECTS AND VALUES
1 This is the Constitution of a political party which shall be known as “The Conservative and Unionist Party”
(referred to in this Constitution as “the Party”). The Party is commonly referred to as “The Conservative Party”.
2 Its purpose is to sustain and promote within the Nation the objects and values of the Conservative Party
I'm not sure that it defines what those 'objects and values' are however.
Kwasi Kwarteng was the shortest-serving Chancellor for 52 years.
Liz Truss can beat that. If she goes before Christmas she'll be the shortest-serving UK Prime Minister ever.

As the former Energy Minister who signed Net Zero into law, for the sake of our environment and climate, I cannot personally vote tonight to support fracking and undermine the pledges I made at the 2019 General Election.
I am prepared to face the consequences of my decision.
Step forward King Charles!
Just a matter of time until Sunak himself likely replaces Truss at No 10

She's pissed off so many support groups now that you wonder how low she can take the Party. TSE's bet of 15% or lower in the polls continues to look good.
Incidentally, I notice that the latest poll from ComRes passed almost without comment here. It's come to something when a 30 point lead is regarded as normal.
Rejoice, rejoice.
But why did Liz Truss appoint her to the role in the first place, knowing as she surely must have that Braverman was implacably opposed to one of her core policies?
And why replace her with Shapps who, as has already been pointed out, has his own rather dubious understanding of the rule of law?
The Tory Party has been destroyed. A circus of quite dangerous clowns has taken its place.
I wish them hellfire, persecution, and exile.
Every deranged one of them.
General election, please.
Keep a cabinet seat warm for me would you ?
Johnson is very far from perfect, and has made mistakes, but there are many worse choices for foreign secretary at the moment.
The first lecture will be, 'Boris Johnson was a tragedy, Liz Truss was a farce.'
But he'd never go for that.
The Conservative Party is incapable of governing. They should resign. There needs to be a General Election now. And no Conservative candidate would deserve to be returned.
Now, I want the Tories to be a proscribed organisation and the country to transition to an era of Lab government / LD opposition. They are damaging, evil and dangerous.

MPs may or may not have been keen, but it is the collapse of the economic plan of the PM and destruction of the Tory poll ratings which has caused this crisis, that is the main problem. And it was entirely her own choice, nothing to do with whether MPs backed it or not.
Braverman should have her citizenship stripped and then exiled to Rwanda for crimes against intelligence.

I can also understand the indignation at being asked to resign by Truss for, well any mistake short of a nuclear war. This cannot go on.
“pp Jeremy Hunt”
Andrew Mitchell was making this approximate point on the News Agents podcast.
But there are just too many narcisstic cretins riddled through what is left of the governance.
I include Simon Case and Andrew Bailey in this by the way, neither should have got to where they have.
Never in my life have I seen such a tawdry display of selfishness and incompetence.

(((Dan Hodges)))
@DPJHodges
MP tells me with raised eyebrows “Grant Shapps is Home Secretary? Interesting. I might send you the messages Grant was sending me over the weekend about Liz Truss”.
This is approaching criminal negligence.
Grossly irresponsible and breathtakingly arrogant.
She needs to go tonight, so do the whole sorry shitshow.
(Except Wallace and Sharma).
He made money by hoodwinking consumers, and he’s been bullshitting his way through the Tory Party for years.
what happens if 200+ conservatives vote against fracking?
@GoodwinMJ
Make no mistake - at the root of Suella Braverman's resignation is a difference of view on immigration. Truss wants to follow Boris Johnson by liberalising policy on immigration & ducking fight with ECHR on small boats. Braverman thinks this is a betrayal of the 2019 electorate.

Watching the full series is on my bucket list.
EDIT - But your point is well taken!!
And that explanation suggests Braverman thinks Boris betrayed the 2019 electorate too, yet she didn't resign then.
Because of his own tawdry and pathetic character he engineered the downfall of Rishi Sunak, thus ensuring that he was succeeded by someone even less suited to the top job than him.
It's the most chaotic period of British Government in my lifetime. We are an international laughing stock. And all taking place during a series of domestic and international crises.
This lot need booting out now. Unfortunately there's virtually no mechanism for that, so we have to endure another two years of total turmoil.
Labour lead of 40% coming up do we think? Tories back into the teens?
