that tipped cabinet would be very disappointing to many leavers i suspect and would not be anything like a 'unity' cabinet. I suspect it isn't entirely accurate either.
OK, I promised myself I would tone down the vitriol towards Eagle today, but I'm actually astonished after watching this video of her launch the other day...
20:23: "Can you explain why you believe you'd beat Theresa May at an election?" "Because she's a Tory" #
I'm sorry but even Corbyn wouldn't give an answer like that.

Eagle knows she can’t win, but someone had to stand in order to get the NEC ball rolling.

I think it's the right decision. Clean break from Cameron's government.
Gutted about George. I suppose he'll be back, he's still a young man, and people will start to miss him
The only person that will miss him will be sat on the backbenches next to him.
In all seriousness he can return further down the line but for May to have a clean break and get the public onside he doesn't need to be sat on the frontbench.

I don't think vitriol is appropriate. I just find her so weak as to cut a sad figure. Out of her depth and without the self-awareness to appreciate how poor she is.
One might almost pity her - she doesn't deserve hate. But she does deserve to lose.
Out of interest is there any OFFICIAL reason to believe Theresa May will be the next Prime minister. Has the Palace said anything? It's all well and good the Tories choosing a new leader but it's up to her Majesty to decide who she thinks can command the authority of the House.
Yes, Graham Brady has confirmed her as leader of the Conservatives and the party is able to command a majority in the HoC.
I agree with Osborne leaving the Cabinet. Clean break, new Government.
But he should be on the "UK Brexit Negotiation Team", and a key figure on it - even if he's a Remainer, he's so well connected amongst influential key figures in the EU and the rest of the world too. He has been a key world player in financial and trade circles for the past 6 years and has surely got so much to give. He should definitely be one of the Remainers on that team.

So Eagles is the bravest rebel in the PLP?
As I’ve said before on here, Angela Eagle has more balls than the rest PLP put together.

The one with the least to lose if she is gong to be deselected anyway.
BTW, if Gove is out of the government, Rupert will be seriously p*ssed off I think... Murdoch's papers played their role in destroying Leadsom. They'll be expecting a quid-pro-quo from Theresa... Gove OUT won't go down well.
Is this the first time that the six main parties in terms of vote share have changed their leaders within a two year period (once the Labour process is over, the Greens elect a new leader in August and Farage is replaced)?
BTW, if Gove is out of the government, Rupert will be seriously p*ssed off I think... Murdoch's papers played their role in destroying Leadsom. They'll be expecting a quid-pro-quo from Theresa... Gove OUT won't go down well.
Rudd. Jeez. There go two million votes. The tory Harman.
I'd have thought Leavers like you would adore Rudd, she's had a very decent career in the Financial Services industry
What makes u think Leavers care about the city of London?
Tax revenues, I might move to London and support London independence.
Ha ha. You think an independent London could support such a vast banking and financial industry? You'd also be without a currency and if you wanted to be in the single market without the UK government's lobbying power, France and Germany would eat the city for breakfast.

Leadsom destroyed herself. The real scandal would have been if a newspaper had not publicised such a revealing car-crash interview.

I'm sure May cares.....
She will in the end... Rupert ALWAYS gets revenge!

Mr. Flashman (deceased), Gove is one of the few Cabinet ministers to make significant changes to his departments.
No - he left his departments as they were, corrupt and incompetent. He forced through major changes in the areas they administered, which is altogether different. What is needed now is for someone to really seize hold of the said departments and shake them hard.
I will laugh myself silly if in a cabinet dominated by women Nicky Morgan gets the sack. Please, Theresa, please!!!
"It's looking likely that Michael Gove will be invited to fall on his sword before Theresa uses it on him"
If May leaves the triumvirate that mobilised 17 million votes on the back benches, well.....
I'm advised there are differing issues at play :
1. Gove's recent behaviour. 2. Previous clashes with May 3. Antipathy of significant number of Tory MP's 4. Balance within the Cabinet. 5. Ongoing reform within Justice Dept. 6. New government rather than reshuffle.
If this forum is right (I know, I know) this is going to be a very europhilic Remainy cabinet...
To some extent that's inevitable, given the dearth of credible figures left standing from the Leave side.
But we're all one big happy family of Brexiteers now anyway. And a ritual human sacrifice of Osborne should help appease the thirst for blood from the mob.

LOL, that's one CV we are believing, then!
Probably tomorrow afternoon.
I'm ambivalent. He can be rehabilitated. But you can't have an Avignon pope.

George Osborne
John McDonnell or
Liz Truss the next PM ?
Looking at buying a new telly box. Dizzying array of options available. One of the Q&As on Argos site: can the TV just be used for TV programmes?
In all seriousness he can return further down the line but for May to have a clean break and get the public onside he doesn't need to be sat on the frontbench.
Yes.

Laying opportunities if you don't think it will be him.

Rupert won big on the EUref.

Mr. Taffys, it could provide a wonderful reconciliation.
For my money, Leadsom's Lepidus. Not having Leadsom in the Cabinet would be a bold decision.
Not sure where he is now with his book but it was a great lay.
Boris would make an outstanding culture secretary, in my view.
Spread wide though.
Is Michael Gove any more or less trust worthy than any other leading mainstream politician, really?
I trust him to actually implement policy far more than most of them.
I will laugh myself silly if in a cabinet dominated by women Nicky Morgan gets the sack. Please, Theresa, please!!!

Hammond's 'six years to brexit' was very ominous in my view.
Mr. Simon, got to admit, I dislike that 'attending but not a member' business.
But we're all one big happy family of Brexiteers now anyway. And a ritual human sacrifice of Osborne should help appease the thirst for blood from the mob.
There's a phrase that can be read several ways...
Very likely someone has inside info.
A bit likely someone thinks they have inside info
Off chance it's someone watching sky news.
Who knows?!
Whoever it is hasn't been back on betfair for more @ 1/10.
Yet.
