I'd imagine Theresa Villiers will a promotion. She's surely done her time exiled to NI by now.

I've always thought she's rather good. Don't know why she's always dismissed as a lightweight - she comes across as much more able than the overpromoted Nicky Morgans and Sajid Javids of the world.

Why is Sarah Wollaston a Tory? What does she believe in apart from the NHS? What makes her a Conservative?

You was chosen via an open primary as a way of getting rid of a stubborn incumbent LibDem.

The plan worked. Albeit, she's half way between a Conservative and a LibDem.
Wollaston? MP for Totnes, succeeding the Tory Anthony Steen, implicated in the expenses scandal if I remember right (prompting the open primary.) Looks like the Lib Dems have often come close, but never won there.
Steen said his house looked like Balmoral...
Who was the person who cleaned their moat on expenses, or had the duck house? Will these be what they're remembered for? What an outcome for years of public service, as Cameron reminded us at lunchtime.
Douglas Hogg - but he didn't. One of those urban myths that are so damaging.

I liked Gerald Kaufman's attempt to spend £9000 on a TV. He blamed his OCD...
I like Tam Dalyell's attempt to claim 18k on bookcases for his "home office" in his estate in Scotland 8 weeks before he retired from the Commons.

They gave him £7,800 for John Lewis bookcases.

A crooked MP is a crooked MP is a crooked MP, and cannot be forgiven nor forgotten. Any of them who did that. Dalyell had the gall to claim that it was all "justified"; the criteria in the policy was wholly for work purposes.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/mps-expenses/5330882/Tam-Dalyell-claimed-18000-for-bookshelves-two-months-before-retiring-MPs-expenses.html

Can we pass an emergency by-law banning the use of megaphones on Parliament Square?

    It is getting ridiculous

What the BBC should do is have a microphone somewhere else to sense the background noise, and then subtract that from the audio feed.

I don't think vitriol is appropriate. I just find her so weak as to cut a sad figure. Out of her depth and without the self-awareness to appreciate how poor she is.

I agree with Osborne leaving the Cabinet. Clean break, new Government.

But he should be on the "UK Brexit Negotiation Team", and a key figure on it - even if he's a Remainer, he's so well connected amongst influential key figures in the EU and the rest of the world too. He has been a key world player in financial and trade circles for the past 6 years and has surely got so much to give. He should definitely be one of the Remainers on that team.

    Assuming he wants to be...

Seriously? – I wouldn’t trust him with a football, let alone a tank.

BTW, if Gove is out of the government, Rupert will be seriously p*ssed off I think... Murdoch's papers played their role in destroying Leadsom. They'll be expecting a quid-pro-quo from Theresa... Gove OUT won't go down well.

    Too untrustworthy.

@Pong lay of Hammond at 1.01 was by far the best bet of the day.

Not sure where he is now with his book but it was a great lay.

Boris would make an outstanding culture secretary, in my view.

Mr. Nabavi, great minds think alike.

Mr. Taffys, it could provide a wonderful reconciliation.

For my money, Leadsom's Lepidus. Not having Leadsom in the Cabinet would be a bold decision.

I would have her attending Cabinet but not a full member. She needs to build up her experience before she can be trusted with a department.

I can't imagine who'd want to be on the other side of that bet.

    ''Too untrustworthy. ''

Is Michael Gove any more or less trust worthy than any other leading mainstream politician, really?

I trust him to actually implement policy far more than most of them.

Mr. Flashman (deceased), Gove is one of the few Cabinet ministers to make significant changes to his departments.

No - he left his departments as they were, corrupt and incompetent. He forced through major changes in the areas they administered, which is altogether different. What is needed now is for someone to really seize hold of the said departments and shake them hard.

I will laugh myself silly if in a cabinet dominated by women Nicky Morgan gets the sack. Please, Theresa, please!!!
