As for women, I guess I could say I know it when I see it.

    The tournament is bloated.

Heck even Scotland qualified for it.

(Which is amusing as Scotland are the only side we've not beaten in this tournament.)

England, who have not conceded once all tournament, now have a three goal cushion. It'd be the comeback of the century if Ukraine managed to claw back the deficit.

However, since Radical Pessimist Energy seems to have helped a lot so far, I'm just going to say: there's still time, isn't there...?

Most other countries don't have "waiting lists", just as this country doesn't have them for example at hairdressers' or car repair garages. An appointment is simply made in an available slot when it's decided you're going to get such-and-such an examination, consultation, or treatment. Nor is the notion of "an appointment" so reified outside of Britain. (See terms such as "give you an appointment" - as though they were actually giving you something.) The whole reason that waiting lists exist is because so many surgeons and other specialists keep two lists - one state, one private. They like to keep more slack on the private one, and there's also the consideration of course that if the state service were tip-top then nobody would go private. The longer the state waiting lists, the more incentive for going private. It is part of the ESSENCE of the health system in Britain that it is DUAL. This has been so ever since the NHS was created. (It's why the BMA stopped its opposition to the NHS.) If the NHS were not part of a dual system it would look completely different.

A similar point could be made about the school system.

Why do you think that waiting lists are still there in specialities such as paediatrics, psychiatry or in regions where private practice barely happens?
....and the capacity in the private system is tiny compared to the NHS.

Something I've noticed about these Euros is the relatively good humour throughout. I think part of that is that we're all so bloody relieved to be playing again in front of fans.

The other is that clubs are so cosmopolitan now. Take the PL: we know many of the players on the pitches because they play in our leagues and when they don't, we play them in European competitions. The 'us and them' is a lot less obvious than it used to be.

Looking at sequences, the last few games have seen England score 0, 1, 2, 4.
Logically, therefore, we’ll score 8 against Denmark.
    And 16 in the final.

Ah the beauty of extrapolation. Now let’s talk about Covid case numbers...

I'm not much of a footie follower.
But years ago we were visiting my partner's bro who is. And as I lazed on the sofa with various members of her family otherwise engaged my eyes fell on their tele to see Michael Owen dribble the ball from one end of the field to the other and score. I don't know who was playing who, but I was impressed. He went through the defense like a knife through butter.
