@ZoraSuleman: Reported if Theresa May doesn't get a majority she will step down ... it depends by how much ... if not a large margin she'll stay for a bit
She's holed below the waterline whatever now. Would be best for her if she just shuffled off quietly and quickly now.
I expect that will be quietly made clear to her in the course of the next few hours,
Interesting backstory. Back in 2010 when DUP leader and incumbent Peter Robinson was mired in a bit of trouble, the loyalist working classes were urged by their own 'leaders' to stick it to him as a reminder that he'd lost touch with the common man. Long became MP and knew exactly what got her over the line, loyalist housing estate votes.
Fast forward 2017, those same loyalist leaders urged people not to vote Long, shes basically doing damage to the unionist cause. Long cries foul...terrible that paramilitary representatives suggest voting DUP...forgetting how they supported he in 2010
Bearing in mind hard-core loyalist communities in Belfast have long had an uneasy relationship with the DUP and tend not to turn out, it was a fairly remarkable statement.
Tough shit Naomi. You pissed on your electorate and they didn't forget.
Relying on the hard men and sectarian pacts is a losing game. Slow and steady will win the race. Let's see what happens in Belfast N in 2017.
Iain Duncan Smith just about clings on in Chingford & Woodford Green.
Was once a very safe Tory seat. Labour should take it next time.
Not sure about that Bob, 2022, new leader, Corbynism might be tired by then, austerity will have eased and, since it's really important, we won't have Theresa May as our leader.

Chingford is swinging away from the Tories long term. Ronnie O'Sullivan backing Labour there will have led a few of the locals astray!

How is that relying on hard men you fool? They didn't march anyone to the ballot box. That isnt how it works.

I'm a very liberal unionist and would previously have considered voting for Alliance but her campaign this time was so holier than thou that I've gone RIGHT off them.

Yep. Demographic change in the seat as middle class metropolitans move out to a nice suburb on the edge of Epping Forest. IDS is toast unless he resigns this term.

I think her husband will already have told her
Why? Is that a "boy job" then?
No. It's news that best comes from somebody who loves you.

With 41.7% of the vote TP will have done better than several previous Conservatives strongholds.
The end times.

Sorry.
Hello, is that Conservative Central Office? Do you know what an Ulster Fry is? no? Suggest you find out and make us one.....
If anyone took up that bet suggestion on South Belfast, hope it comes in.
(The) Ayr turns blue
Massive win.
Is that a record ?
4 horse race apparently
May might just do it because of Scotland. But we need to start winning the odd seat off Labour and stop losing them. Need to win Westmoreland too.

Very efficient so far. Clinging on in WWC seats and gaining middle class seats readily.
They almost took Chingford & Woodford Green FFS – that is Iain Duncan Smith's seat and should be a safe as house Tory hold.
Holding on in the north, gaining down south...
How have we lost Canterbury?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
