She's the only one of the 7 I've crossed paths with. I walked passed her outside the Welsh Assembly building whilst she was having a fag. Smiled at me too.
If Ed is going to make an impact it'll be in the open debate, not the set pieces
Yup. He just sounds so awful when doing the pre-scripted soundbites. I don't know if he's going to get the chance to do the kind of natural "free-roaming" he did last week.
Did my ears deceive me or did Faisal Islam just say Sturgeon "would be appealing to Labour voters in northern England"?
How the F*** is that supposed to work, then?
As follows:
In order to completely kill off the (admittedly feeble) Labour argument that a vote for the SNP is a vote for the Tories, she'll want to maximise the support she gets from south of the border. If she can get left-wing English journalists, pundits and voters to say she came over better than Ed M (which shouldn't be hard), then she'll have a good argument to use in Scotland that a vote for the SNP is a safe vote for Labour voters.

Detoxify the SNP for wavering SLAB voters. If the SNP come across as a reasonable non-separatist movement that isn't interested in another independence referendum then it will help them hold onto a lot of the 45% and a lot of the tartan Tories who loathe Labour and have nowhere else to go.
The issue is whether the SNP policies resonate with N English voters (or other rUK voters) who want but can't have them thanks to the Westminster consensus (etc). Even doing down Labour and Tory votes a little can't do any harm; and it also - as you say - detoxifies the SNP [edit]but also for English voters as well. After all the rabid Emmanuel Goldstein treatment of Mr Salmond in the English and Unionist Scottish media, Nicola Sturgeon speaking her own words is likely to be a surprise. How much of an impact is another matter of course.
If I was a Tory strategist tonight I'd be trying to get Ed to sneer. It's an unattractive trait in all of us, and Ed does it very well - and thus poorly for his prospects.
That simple thing is all they need.
Earlier as I handed my wife the phone she was passing a choice comment on the face ~Ed was pulling.
IOS. Shameless but Cameron is definitely trailing and it's largely thanks to the fifth columnist Clegg
I don't know why but what springs to my mind is that pompous English officer from Last Of The Mohicans. Goes from being a cowardly fop to sacrificing himself as a hero by choosing to be burnt at the stake.

Nicola well ahead.
If you believe the worm we would have a Tory majority.
He is attacked by everyone on the economy, even Clegg.
Not true. He means people earning £1million PER YEAR.
Very different.
How Ed? How will you do these things? *silence*
I just get the feeling he looks diminished in this crowd.

Bless.
Sounds great.
vacuous round numbers from her on poverty.
Its like pyromaniacs picketing the fire brigade and then complaining that the firefighters didn't put out the fires they started quick enough.
I think Milliband is going to win this by a mile.
Clegg doing quite well.
What a difference the absence of rightwing newspapers makes.
This should happen all the time! Would be good for politics
Big mistake!
What's cutting the debt in half mean when it has nearly doubled?

They look cool and sound reasonable while the men are all shouting at each other.
