Don't remember the details, but perhaps worth re-perusing at this juncture
You're interrupting my feistiness
It is, by the way, a sensational wine. The viticulture of Moldova is a fucking revelation

The old Masters: how well they understood
Its human position: how it takes place
While someone else is eating or opening a window or just walking dully along;
How, when the aged are reverently, passionately waiting
For the miraculous birth, there always must be
Children who did not specially want it to happen, skating
On a pond at the edge of the wood:
They never forgot
That even the dreadful martyrdom must run its course
Anyhow, in a corner, some untidy spot
Where the dogs go on with their doggy life, and the torturer's horse
Scratches its innocent behind on a tree.
Sure, every human tragedy is a yooman tragedy, but shit happens irrespective of what anyone else is doing. While your spouse of 50 years is dying someone somewhere is having a dump/wank/gin and tonic. This stuff is being overplayed. Not that I'm not delighted it is, mind.
Because the wine is just amazing. This is maybe the 3rd or 4th stunner I have tried
All of south east European wine is making a stellar comeback (the new Greek white wines! Ah!) but Moldova in particular is superb value

Meanwhile Johnson thought his staff having drinks in the sunshine were working.

Spineless
People aren't going to forget nor forgive this.
More fool the tories if they leave him in place.
A very plausible outcome of a VONC is Johnson winning because of various factions trying to prevent a rival from winning. Then we have to wait for 2023 for the next go.
There is probably a billion changes that can be made to Boris Brexit and it could still be called Brexit?
And the question, is there only one direction for Brexit from here? It can probably go this way or that. To me it’s unclear if Boris is a blocker or enabler in now divulging from the European social model, many would call true Brexit and the whole point of doing Brexit.
I’ll give you one policy example in how Brexit can change if there is new leadership, but still be Brexit means Brexit. Many business backers of Brexit didn’t like Boris tough stance on visa’s in face of too many vacancies hurting business, new leadership could have a more business friendly approach on that question. The temporary workers that get the harvest in, cooks in care homes, waitress in hotels etc
A change of face won't prevent the emotional outpouring. May just cement the Conservative as the target.

One of the problem of our delinquent would be world king is that all the government's efforts are going into fighting for his survival rather than actually tackling the problems of the country. Its going to be five wasted years.
It's generally a group that is reliably pro-Boris and they've all deserted him.
The big change I saw tonight was that where until now the worry is that a new leader might put Brexit at risk of backsliding, now Boris staying and losing to Labour is seen as the big risk to ensuring Brexit isn't watered down. I think that view is probably shared by the ERG. Keeping Boris is seen as the riskier Brexit option for the Spartans than dumping him, at least that's the view I got today from City hedgies.
Though anything that removes the spivvy little man is welcome particularly if he takes Patel with him
Literally.
We are lost. We have lost all cultural backbone and self confidence. We are finished as a civilisation, from Paris to Portland Place, from Seattle to Saint Denis. Endgame
We will probably be allowed to boast about our property prices for a few more years

Civil war, or at least incivility, within the Tories.
I would just say that those who hope Boris going will see a movement to rejoin the EU will be very disappointed though an improved relationship outside the EU would be desirable
Slaughter in the shires.
And anyway you are grossly exaggerating. 4 more years. Tops.

Sighs.
Been told Douglas Ross said to his MSPs that in his conversation with the PM earlier Johnson couldn’t guarantee there wasn’t more to come out

We are a defeated culture
Like the Doors after Jim Morrison.
The longer he is allowed to continue in office the longer the rot will spread and contaminate even more of the Tory Party and its policy ambitions with every passing week. They should just take a swig of bourbon and cut off the infection. It’s hard to see how the patient survives otherwise.

‘Really appreciate you making sure I wasn’t the main story on tomorrow’s front pages, Boris. I owe you one.’
In my view under Rishi’s new leadership, there will be a more pragmatic approach to business need which Boris is clearly blocking. And that’s the main driver of his downfall.
If not why was Chris Bryant wibbling on about her ?

I submit that my position is the opinion held by most people in this country. Don't go around smashing up or destroying art. If you dislike the art, for whatever reason, we are a democracy and you have multiple avenues to express your discontent and see your iconoclastic desires realised, or not
That's the whole damn point of a democracy. All else is mob rule, or a police state. Take your pick

EXCLUSIVE Times/YouGov poll gives Labour their biggest lead since Dec 2013
Lab 38 (+1)
Con 28 (-5)
LDem 13 (+3)
Green 7 (+1)
RefUK 4 (-1)
1) The party was Boris's idea
2) The party was Martin Reynolds's idea but with Boris's approval
3) The party was Martin Reynolds's idea with Boris not really knowing but not being bothered about it
I think we can discount:
4) The party was Martin Reynolds's idea with Boris not really knowing but being unhappy about it
"We are a defeated culture."
When he's been on the winning side in every single last fucking vote since 2005, while the "woke" have lost every one.
If we are a defeated culture, then whose bloody fault is it?
So movement to the LDs and RefUK still on 4% and clearly some Tories gone DK but those can be reclaimed. However I would expect a VONC still in due course, though on those numbers Boris could still survive it
Con 220
Lib 19
SNP 59
Green 1
Yes that is a Labour Majority.
YouGov gives Labour a 10% lead!
And that's before todays joke excuse about thinking a massive knees up with lashings of booze was a work event drift out to the public.
