You're assuming that Boris cares about the people of the country or the administration. He just might be loyal to himself and nobody else. If no-deal wins him an election (and @HYUFD has frequently advanced scenarios where it does) then he will no-deal regardless of any bad effects to other people.Tissue_Price said:
I don't have any sort of inside knowledge of the new administration. It just seems fairly obvious that avoiding No Deal is manifestly in any administration's interests. All the more so if it doesn't have a majority!viewcode said:

Have to laugh at the mock shock and horror that those who backed Hunt are not being preferred. I thought this was a betting site? Surely gamblers should understand that those who back the winnings horse get the winnings?
Hunt and his supporters lost the election fair and square. Boris had the backing of over 150 MPs didn't he?Theoretically he could easily fulfil every ministerial role only with those who backed him.
Other than Mordaunt still not seen any names going to backbenches to regret. In fact Arkhangelsk those like May, Hammond and failing Grayling out this is a good day.0 -

It's over half a century since I joined the Liberal Party. Not once have I felt remotely as strongly as I do now that we really are the only option. And that - just possibly - Providence may have given us the leader we need to make the most of the position we're in.Cicero said:ON THREAD
As a totally tribal Liberal Democrat I genuinely feel sympathy for Richard. I am as committed to the ideals of my own party as he has been to his and although the Lib Dems test me occasionally, the bonds of friendship alone keep me on the campaign trail.
However in the 6 hours that BoJo has been PM, this shuffle confirms every one of everyone's worst fears about him.
The guy is taking a wrecking ball to party unity and whereas Mrs. May alienated her opponents, Johnson is alienating his allies.
How long before the first "Boris has blown it" headline?
The fat thug seems determined to demonstrate it's possible to be more dangerous than Corbyn and more doomed to failure than May. We really are the only party committed to healthy, democratic, capitalism.0 -
