Nicola has assessed the risk and made a judgement call. Time will tell if she is right. I lost Johnson this pandemic when he started making the judgement call without assessing the risk.
Wasn't Nige hanging about in Tulsa 2 weeks ago sniffing Trump's bottom? Must have had a superfast executive jet on standby to whip him back.
Positive tests don’t show up right away. He should surely be in quarantine.
Sounds as though he was at most 12 hours away from the end anyway.
A revival of Faragism is probably good for LDs and Lab of course. Most likely to harm the Tories.
It would be fun to see him in irons though.
Not sure about that, in the NE the Tories stood still but benefited because Farage took Labour votes. Might have been different elsewhere I guess, I only noticed the NE seats where the Lab decrease was often the same as the BXP share
As it's apparently "super Saturday", I can only assume it's for the running of both the Derby and the Oaks at Epsom.
The Oaks looks a three-horse race on paper. LOVE won the 1000 Guineas and looks a top-class filly. FRANKLY DARLING beat ENNISTYMON in the Ribblesdale and you'd have to think there'd be little between them. I've not played on the race but my selection is LOVE.
The Derby looks wide open but it's easy to have doubts about a lot of the principals. ENGLISH KING won the Lingfield Derby Trial but the second that day might not be anything special and ENGLISH KING has a poor draw.
KAMEKO won the 2000 Guineas but he's a mile and a quarter horse on breeding so I oppose him. The Aidan O'Brien horses look nothing special - MOGUL may well come on from his King Edward VII run but he'll have to. RUSSIAN EMPEROR won the Hampton Court and the ground should be ideal - I think he'll go close.
PYLEDRIVER won with an enterprising ride at Ascot and he won't get that advantage again. HIGHLAND CHIEF won a handicap on soft ground last time and isn't anywhere near good enough.
I've backed MOHICAN HEIGHTS each way at 20/1. I thought he ran home well behind PYLEDRIVER at Ascot and could be staying on from the rear when others are running on fumes.
I have done ENNISTYMON , good bet at 7-1 given form.
The target to get 50 per cent of young people into university is set to be formally abandoned as part of a drive to expand vocational education.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak will use next week’s mini-Budget to announce funding for a huge expansion in apprenticeships.
With youngsters facing what is set to be the most difficult jobs market for a generation, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson will also launch a major push to expand further education.
Jumpers for goal posts stuff in Man Utd vs Bournemouth game.
Mason Greenwood looks like a very good player.
England look like have some serious attacking talent for years to come...Greenwood, Rashford, Sterling, Sancho, Hudson-Odi to name just a few.
We would have won the Euros.
The delay might actually be really good for England...another year of development for these players. Need to hope somebody like Gomez can improve as a centre back partnership of Maguire and Mings or Stones will always leak goals.

Foden too.
Delighted to see that the man who cost England a place in the WC final isn’t in your list...
John Stones?
Harry “I’ll take on this difficult one-on-one to get myself the Golden Boot rather than slide it across to the unmarked Stirling for a tap in and 2-0” Kane... the man for whom the top scorer award has always meant more than the trophy... Klopp has yet to stop smiling after seeing the CL Final team sheet...

Yup, I also cheered when I saw the Champions League final team sheet.
A new high of 11,458 new cases in Florida. Only 16 deaths though. Must be a less virulent strain of the virus there than in most other places.
Several factors - deaths is a significantly lagging indicator, the demographics of the infected may be less likely to lead to death (younger?) and treatment has improved. IF (and its a big if) the US CFR of 4.6% holds they could be looking at ±500 deaths from today alone - but lets hope the ultimate outcome is a lot better than that. The other danger with large numbers of cases is health systems become overwhelmed and then mortality rates deteriorate....

Surely the deaths today would be people who first exhibited symptoms at the very least a fortnight ago, and probably closer to a month ago? So it isn't the relevant comparison - deaths now correspond to positive tests weeks ago, positive tests now to deaths in late July/early August.

Nah, not whilst Jordan Pickford is in goal.
I would have thought another year and Henderson could be #1
I've watched him closely due to my bet on Sheff Utd to finish top 6 and I'm not convinced about him.
It is as much to do with the fact Pickford looks awful and not much other competition. Pope, hmmm, then who else? The big hope at one point was Butland, but he could be playing division one football in a few months the way Stoke are going.

Does it really take a month to go from symptom to death?

A month is about right. 7-10 days ill with the flu like symptoms, then you go downhill and 2-3 weeks in ICU. I believe the original Chinese data normally showed a month being roughly the time period.

Yes, at the time the Republicans meet in Jacksonville isn't it?
"As someone who was born within three weeks of Trump I believe strongly that both are just too old for the demanding job that is required of them."
And the issue with Obama was that he was too inexperienced, with Dubya Bush it was that he was too stupid, with Clinton and Nixon it was that they were too sleazy, with Carter it was that he was too much of an outsider etc. There's always something to latch onto.
Thankfully the U.S. presidency isn't an autocratic position anyway, despite what many who hold the office might otherwise wish.

Can do. Three weeks is more typical but can be more and can be a bit less. Only people with VERY severe existing conditions might be expected to succumb in less than a fortnight.

Thanks. I was under the wrong impression a fortnight was typical!
Good afternoon ladies & gentlemen. Just back from a) lunch and b) a wander round our small town. One barber busy..... well showing a client out and welcoming the next one, ....... but both pubs that are open were very quiet Tables outside both but by no means all occupied. Some shops open but my wife and I both thought it quieter than a normal Saturday. The travel agent has shut down and the wine bar, which closed some time ago is up for sale.

I believe you know if you're in real trouble after a fortnight. After week one, most get better but a few get worse. After week two, those that get worse are either in big trouble or not. But severe cases are rarely dead early in the third week - they might well be on ventilation and in the balance, but are normally hanging on in there unless they have major pre-existing issues.

A lot of the shops and restaurants in Leicester look more like they are preparing to close than reopen.
THIS now appears in front of lots of movies on Sky:
"This film has outdated attitudes, language and cultural depictions which may cause offence today. Sci-fi sequel starring Sigourney Weaver. Contains violence."

IF you want to understand why Black Lives Matter is resonating so strongly with a diverse spectrum of Americans in the wake of the killing of George Floyd - despite the wretched excesses of a small minority of anarchists, rioters & other opportunists - these key words from the Declaration of Independence are the reason.
We often fail to live up to them - their author Thomas Jefferson certainly did - but they keep ringing in our ears and appealing to what our greatest president Abraham Lincoln called "the angels of our better nature".

From my experience of Leicester, that’s situation normal.

It's tragic. They failed to develop a proper cricket team.
Nonsense. I saw the USA cricket team take on New Zealand in the 2004 Champions Trophy at The Oval.
Wasn’t it composed entirely of superannuated West Indian rejects?
Admittedly there was a time when the mere thought of that would have been enough to lead the opposition into wearing brown trousers and risking the fine. But not by 2004.

He asked for him to be investigated, you don't need to arrested to be investigated.

I intend to wear it on the great night in November, when it will end up either covered in tears of joy or despair (and probably some wine stains).

Centre Backs is where England are weak.
Absolutely astonishing to think he has more assists than most midfielders.

How good was Gilberto Silva? They won with an injured keeper and Roque Junior in the team!
I don't know how they fit in all the Leagues, European games, Euros and be ready for a winter World Cup in 18 months.
Poor Lucas Moura.
The way De Gea is playing Henderson is going to be Manchester United's number 1 soon.

This particular movie is Aliens. Can anyone tell me what is offensive in Aliens?
Genuinely mystified.
Presumably if we apply quarantine on the English lorry deliveries to our supermarkets will stop?
I hoped he’d stay in the US for the rest of his life.
Lot of faces to spot in this one.
They should remake the movie, only with NICE aliens, then it would be fine.
John Hurt could keep one as a pet, and Sigourney could learn how to do alien crochet from the Alien Mother
