The right wing press has been proved impotent. It is emasculated. That is huge. May followed the Mail and the Sun. A mistake.
Bad night for the right wing press Australian election gurus Brexit UKIP ..........it's like the scene in the godfather when Michael dispatches all his enemies in one go
Listening to George Osborne talking on TV is exactly like reading TSE on here.
Uncanny.
We are the voices of general election winning policies.
We are the voices of lower taxation.
We are the voices of social liberalism.
One small silver lining, might we get our party back a little....to coin a phrase.
Hopefully.
I'm going flail the PBers/Tories that denied the awesomeness of Dave and George.
If George Osborne had managed to balance the books as he promised by 2015 we would not have had 2 extra years of austerity which Corbyn has clearly mobilised leftwing voters against tonight (including some who voted UKIP in 2015)
That's where my thinking is taking me.
It would have been better to cut deeper, faster and quicker and get it over with. People can't take the prospect of 'the pain' never ending.
Of course, that would have made it far harder for Dave to win against Ed Miliband in GE2015.
We wouldn't have won a majority in 2015. No the issue is Theresa May not offering any kind of positive vision for the country.

Indeed but Cameron would still likely have had a Tory LD deal even if not quite a majority
Why do Sky make such a big thing of Ken Clarke - horrid man
If the stupid Tory members had elected Clarke rather than the idiot IDS then we'd probably be looking at a 4th term Tory win by now, with me one of their supporters.
FWIW I don't think the next PM can be Boris - either the Tories can form a government (probably multitudes + unionists) in which case May has to do it, because there's no time to have a leadership election. If the result is that bad, she may have to effectively do it as caretaker, having agreed to step down after a leadership election. (And then 'unelected' PM heading a minority government - hard to see that working). Or they can't form a government and it's Corbyn.
The only scenario where it can be anyone else is surely a) May resigns tomorrow and a caretaker forms a Tory-led admin pending leadership election. Is that possible? Or b) new election fought by May's successor if no government is possible.
