Dear me, well I have had a bit of a stinker. Staunch Remainer and utter prick Gareth Snell is good enough for Stoke, I never would have thought it. I don't think the UK will ever change from Labour and Tory, people just like moaning about them but doing nothing,
Margin is important in Stoke Central. If UKIP are within a couple of % then they can probably gain say Stoke North in a BE. If they are say 10% off then they can't take ANY Labour seat.

Hard to say - UKIP might have done better with a less high profile candidate - Nuttall blew the whole thing just by being himself.

I doubt it. Stoke had the chance to have a relatively high profile voice in Parliament. The people in the Newsnight and Guardian videos were constantly moaning about how they had been ignored or taken for granted by politicians for decades, and yet they still vote for a Labour Remainer. I have a mate who hates his job and his missus and never does anything but moan about it, this is the same kind of thing.
It seems to me that the Lib Dems were probably hindered in Stoke by the fact that UKIP were seen as credible challengers. If you're a committed remain voter and are faced with a choice between Labour and UKIP then you vote Labour.
Remove UKIP from the equation and suddenly remain supporting Labour voters have permission to defect. If Stoke polishes UKIP off as a serious force then it could well accelerate the Lib Dem recovery.

Curtice: Lab have misread their voters - most of their voters are Remain.
That's the first sensible comment I've read for sometime. For God's sake 70% of Labour voters are Remain - everywhere. We just assume that in the high Leave seats it must be Labour voters. It isn't . THe Leave votes are of the other parties. The WWC Leave voters left Labour sometime ago.
Nothing will ever change, we are stuck forever. Labour really couldn't have put out a worse candidate, he insulted the voters but they still voted for him, sad.
Snell 'My wife and I chose to make our home here and it is the best decision we have ever made' First time I imagine that his been said about moving to Stoke!

This is what will happen at GE if Corbyn is leader.
basically, be careful relying on his tweets as a source for betting.
In fact I'm not sure it makes sense for anyone without trusted in-the-counting-hall sources to be betting right now!
