The Germans are a miserable lot.
So common they have a phrase for it, and that phrase has a Wikipedia page.

Giant banquets rile radical left in France
They're are about to kick out the guy who delivered it.
One exit poll puts Roberto Sánchez on just over 50% - but there are still 8% of votes to count.
The industrial national champions have been especially hard hit.
Oh.
But mainly it is the technological lead over China that is lost. China is dominating the new industries of EV's etc.
On the flip side I've loads of British friends who think Britain is a dystopia and would like to move to Germany. Even I am eying a retirement in New England despite my (possibly visa denying) comments about Trump.
You can't please people nowadays. The grass is always greener etc etc.
"Ireland is battling a PR nightmare"
Yes, it takes far too long to count the votes under STV.
I'd say there are lots of good reasons to move country, but unless you are moving from a dictatorship to a democracy*, moving country due to perceptions of how well run it is will only end in disappointment.
* And the main advantage of a democracy is that you can complain about how badly run the place is without the risk of being sent to jail.

Zack Polanski has criticised supermarkets for selling vegetables for as little as 7p
“This isn’t a sign of a healthy system… someone is being exploited somewhere”
Merz though will likely see his CDU still form a government with the SPD to keep out the AfD

TL:DR the Americans have effectively opened a shipping route close to the Oman coast.
Germany still has a large chemical industry, whose margins have been absolutely laid waste by the massive increase in both feedstock and energy prices.
However Jonny Foreigner, who nowadays we're massively in hock to, sees it differently.
I think we need to tap Germany for reparations.

I'm actually in favour of certain essential items being available in supermarkets for 0p - e.g free.
A carrot. An apple. A tin of basics beans. A small loaf of cheap sliced bread. A small packet of rich tea biscuits. 10 tea bags. A single economy toilet roll. A small pack of sanitary towels. A pint of long life milk. Possibly even a can of low ABV cheap lager.
Products on which supermarkets make next to no margin anyway - if necessary the miniscule losses can be offset against their business rates or taxes.
Obviously there would need to be limits per customer and it should be basic quality and limited quantity to make resale and profiteering impractical (like Amsterdam bicycles were at one point and maybe still are).
This policy would render foodbanks and the associated complicated applications unnecessary, and ultimately eradicate absolute poverty. Nobody will starve - they'll always be able to get something basic to eat for free at Tesco Extra in the middle of the night.
Yet Polanski is the deranged lefty and I'm the heartless right-winger...
"I'm actually in favour of certain essential items being available in supermarkets for 0p - e.g free."
At first glance I thought this was a great idea. It'd just finish up with those products being low quality though. Supermarket carrots now aren't great.
Perhaps what we need is a carrot tax. Push the price up and make the better ones less of a reach.

That said, the average British voter does go straight back to being the average British consumer and keeps buying cheap stuff in supermarkets.
Hard to argue against that, unless your trying to appeal to Telegraph readers by deliberately portraying him as an Eco Lunatic.
Peter.
Very aggressive pricing from SpaceX, but also a very rapidly expanding business.
Gotta be worth a bag of sand IMHO.

(Hmm. Wasn't there a food poisoning story recently?)
Peter.
Had an interesting conversation with a French friend about Troyes Cathedral. Unlike say Canterbury* or a number of European Cathedrals there are virtually no statues on the outside. The reason was that they were smashed during the French Revolution and no one wants to put statues back up again. She seemed quite insistent that there was a clear divide between personal freedom and what the church/state wanted to impose on you. Hence they are always revolting.
Perhaps a lesson for the Brits.
* Canterbury has QEII and Prince Philip on the outside but Charles III has not made the cut yet.
More like he had £20m in savings and didn't feel the need to carry on.

Bankman-Fried was given a 25-year sentence after he was convicted of multiple federal charges related to FTX, the cryptocurrency exchange that he founded and led, and its related company Alameda Research.
Just two years into that sentence, the 34-year-old former billionaire has now filed an application for pardon after completion of sentence to the Department of Justice, according to online records.
Should Bankman-Fried ultimately receive a pardon, his crimes would essentially be forgiven under the law.
