    Super Tuesday may show Sanders holding on to a clear lead and then he wins overall no problem, but right now this does look like the most exciting nomination race since at least 2008.

    I think we are going to get an announcement that the PCC and local elections are going to be postponed. Eight weeks from now its not unreasonable to think we will be in the state Italy currently is.

    I tentatively suggested, with my usual lack of expertise not holding me back, that anyone whose death rate was more than 2% of their infected rate had a problem because there were almost certainly "unfound" victims spreading the virus unchecked in the community. The reckless Iran with all the tongue licking of Islamic statues is currently sitting at 4.4%. Tonight the USA is over 6%.

    It goes beyond neglect. They tried to impeach Trump because he wanted to find out a bit about Biden's possible corruption. He should be impeached for this and his cuts in the CDC budget. He is a disgrace.

    Mayor Pete and Amy Klobuchar are both going to endorse Biden on stage in Texas tonight.

    It really seems to be coming down to who has the best impressionist on Saturday Night Live, although the guy who did Cory Booker was quite good.

    It just doesn't work.

    He should have either made the series 5 years ago, or retired to an old people's home.

    The CDC helped low income countries to address diseases that were potentially a threat to Americans. In doing so it gained a great deal of expertise and knowledge in how to control, analyse and prevent the spread of diseases. The USA urgently needs that expertise now within its own borders but the department was all but disbanded. The CDC of the Obama years would have been front and central in dealing with this virus. Now the US is one of those countries with a completely deficient health system unable to control a virus within its borders.

    Its been said for a while it didn't make sense there was no testing and no cases on the West Coast which has so much trans-pacific travel.

    Now we know there have been cases they just weren't tested.

    I did suggest a couple of weeks ago that I thought it was very strange how there was no sign of it in the Pacific North West, when it has a very large Chinese immigration population there (especially in Seattle and Vancouver) and obviously much closer to China, so making trips home are more common during holidays.

    Well doesn't have to be a vaccine, there are currently two drugs undergoing human trials to see what their effectiveness on this is like having already fully certificated as they were worked on for SARS. So if they are working well, the production of them can be quickly ramped up.

    Just shocking.

    At the press conference today, the guy in charge of New York was talking about hoping to get the capacity to do 1000 test a day by the end of the week. That seems a tiny amount for such a populous area.

    I suspect many voters don't think the Presidency is something which should be passed around members of the same family.

    I agree. The virus appears to have reached Italy late January and the cases emerged during February. We are barely in March and look where they are now. Project the north west coast situation forward a month and it doesn’t look good.
