Regarding the tweet, the DJ is unsurprisingly over-reacting upwards... the fundemantal negative impact of coronavirus on the global economy is not going to go away imo.
According to today’s Gazzetta del Mezzogiorno, at yesterday’s football match in Lecce, Puglia (4 cases in the region so far) the ambulance service tested 1,200 spectators, all tested negative.
That’s right - the Italians at one stadium in one provincial town tested twice as many people at a single football match than the whole of the USA has managed since the crisis began.
I know Sanders is compared to Corbyn but who does Biden compare with
I have a poor knowledge of the candidates but I do want Trump out but not to Sanders
Neil Kinnock.
That was 30 years ago.
Now he's comparable to Neil Kinnock with early signs of dementia.
How has it come to this that the Democratic establishment are rallying behind a man whose mental faculties are visibly failing?
We can all see his mental faculties are failing.
Say that to Biden supporters and they don't even deny it, they're just like "at least its not Trump or Sanders" as if that makes everything great.
Between this election and not testing for COVID America is fucked.
Being not Trump is definitely enough
Not come November. How is Biden going to fare in the debates when he can't even finish a sentence?
Just fine. He’ll spout nonsense back at Trump’s nonsense.
Difference is that Biden will have moments of lucidity. And a VP who doesn’t give you the creeps.
Trump spouts nonsense but bluffs his way through it. Biden is just sad.
Trump's nonsense and bluster is often entertaining and amusing, or would be were he not president at any rate. I've not seen as many of Biden's moments, but they don't seem to be as energetically bonkers. Here's hoping Biden can keep it together enough to win.
Regarding the tweet, the DJ is unsurprisingly over-reacting upwards... the fundemantal negative impact of coronavirus on the global economy is not going to go away imo.
The trouble is that while the sort of measures the central banks will be floating tomorrow do very little for the real economy, they do wonders for asset prices including stock markets. Which is why the Dow is going up.

Hard to disagree...
Biden is a spectacularly poor candidate with obvious signs of mental degradation, who is going to end up head-to-head with Trump because... well, probably because Mike Bloomberg stopped the field properly consolidating post Iowa and New Hampshire.
That being said, the US public health response to Covid-19 has been utterly appalling. It's possible tens of thousands of people will end up dying unnecessarily from it. In that circumstance, I don't think it matters who the nominee is. Trump will be hammered.

Joe Biden as President = Patrick Stewart playing Picard.
An awesome idea - five years ago...
Lets not overblow it. Even five years ago Biden was awful, that's why he didn't run when he had the incumbency of being Veep.
He didn’t run because his kid died. And Obama talked him out of it (reportedly)
Sympathies for the kid but that's not all there is.
I wonder why Obama talked him out of it?
No, I think that was a good deal of it. He was extremely close to his son Beau, whom he saw as his political successor (and who by all accounts was pretty talented). Though you’re right it’s not as simple as that.
I’m not sure he’d have beaten Clinton, who is probably the better machine politician, to the nomination. But I’m pretty sure if he had, he’d have beaten Trump.

Does Biden (‘s team) have a solution to healthcare, if that’s the issue on which the election can be won?

Which is an indictment on the USA as a whole.
Now given that the main outbreak in the USA is in Washington state and that Washington state has had Democrat governors continuously since 1984 ...
One amusing part about Biden's rise is that he could potentially push Bloomberg below viability in California, though Buttigieg and Klob pulling out make this less likely. Sanders faces the same danger with Warren in Texas.

One big promise on the cvirus that goes tits up and Trump is finished. He might be finished anyway. Could the Republicans remove him?
Wishful thinking on both counts, sadly. Trump will just blame it all on the Dems and the MSM.

Our politics is better. It's not just the leaders and parties, which I think are better, it's things like the neutrality of government departments, independent judiciary, a press that is on the whole more willing to challenge the executive, and our parties seem to be broader. I think we also do a lot better with things like elections, seat boundaries, and voter registration.

Certainly not their campaign finance.
Yes I should have mentioned that. US politics is facinating, but it's certainly not a good example of how things should be done.

At grass roots there’s a folksy localness about it, which seems at odds with how big money it is at the top. And in many communities people are willing to show their support with lawn posters (without apparent fear of vandalism or theft).
I tentatively suggested, with my usual lack of expertise not holding me back, that anyone whose death rate was more than 2% of their infected rate had a problem because there were almost certainly "unfound" victims spreading the virus unchecked in the community. The reckless Iran with all the tongue licking of Islamic statues is currently sitting at 4.4%. Tonight the USA is over 6%.
It goes beyond neglect. They tried to impeach Trump because he wanted to find out a bit about Biden's possible corruption. He should be impeached for this and his cuts in the CDC budget. He is a disgrace.
Yes. Trump's disgraceful mishandling of this endangers the world. America is a f*cking shitshow.

First person account of an Italian Covid sufferer. 59 year old with a history of pneumonia, she pulled through with what sounds like minimal treatment:
https://slate.com/technology/2020/03/i-had-the-coronavirus-worst-part-stigma.html ... They took some X-rays, and they confirmed that I had pneumonia. There were no rooms in isolation, though, so they put me on a stretcher in an unused office that lacked even a bathroom. Every two hours they would come to check my vitals. They gave me the swab, and the results came back a day later: positive for COVID-19.
When they told me about it, I wasn’t afraid for myself. I had figured I had it, and I was actually doing better—it was like having a bad flu. I was afraid for everyone else. I thought back to whom I had seen, whom I had come in contact with, and I hoped with all of myself that no one had contracted the virus. I had to call my friends, family, and co-workers and explain the whole story.
They transferred me to the infectious diseases department at a bigger hospital in Bergamo. There, they were more prepared to handle this emergency. I was in isolation; no one could visit me. Since there is no cure, they could only give me Tylenol...
No, but sometimes it seems like american politics exists to make ours (mostly) look better.

That’s right - the Italians at one stadium in one provincial town tested twice as many people at a single football match than the whole of the USA has managed since the crisis began.
I don't think the comeback kid is a relevant metaphor for Bibi...more like Alien...just when you think you've nuked the motherfucker up he pops....
Good trading Market though.
