hello PB, first time I have commented since the days of "Tim", if anyone remembers him! I had a different moniker then, but enjoyed being the scourge of headbangers on the right and left. HYUFD and his deranged rantings at anyone without his "pure" world view have brought me back out of retirement!
Is this the legendary Tim back on PB under his real name?

I hate to say it but he's just saying what most people are thinking. I was with some people who work high up in a council the other day and (even I) was shocked by how they discussed immigrants.
Well done to May for standing up for immigration in response to Trump's comments. She has done pretty well overall today. Trump is as controlled as I can recall him.
Did Trump really say the Suns report was fake news or did I miss hear
Donald Trump lies repeatedly about ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. Why would he not lie about something as trivial as a newspaper interview, when he will happily lie about important issues like nuclear proliferation?

This press conference seems to have recovered the damage from the Sun fake news as he calls it
I think Trump is a crazy fucker but then I thought the millionaire who bought our business was a crazy, aggressive, bull-headed, insensitive fucker until he transformed our company and put lots of money in my pocket. So I do hedge my bets with headbangers.
Anyone else squirming with embarrassment at Trump's responses to questions from the press ? The man is beyond parody.
In many ways Trump is the perfect reflection of the vulgar, narcissistic and hedonistic times in which we live. Without the cult of the selfie he probably wouldn't have been elected.

Unrelated thought. Ought the DUP to look at the experience of the miners in dealing with the government? Getting generous concessions might look good for now......
Amateur psychiatrist time: Trump is 50% narcissistic personality disorder and 50% Alzheimers dementia.
I know we no long need experts, but ....
"Gartner, a psychologist in private practice in Baltimore and New York, author of a psychobiography of Bill Clinton, and a former instructor in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins, contends that Trump “manifestly” meets the DSM-published criteria for at least three personality disorders: narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), antisocial personality disorder, and paranoid personality disorder. They are a “toxic brew” that in his view not only make Trump “dangerous” but add up to “malignant narcissism,” not a diagnosis formalized in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual but a label coined by the German-born psychologist and psychoanalyst Erich Fromm."

And one things he's got right is his opinion of journalist. He certainly doesn't treat them with the respect they think they deserve. According to journalists, they are valiant seekers after truth. More like ''When the truth becomes legend, print the legend.''
Trump seems bothered that the Sun only printed the eye-catching insults rather than his more-rounded critique, and totally omitted the nice things he said. He surely can't be that naïve? It's all about ratings and sales and they all have an angle - a bit like politicians.
Trump actually stood at a press conference and said Boris would be a great pm - whilst standing next to May
Wow
It is, yes, and yet this is considered a great triumph for May because he said she would be great too. This is how Trump works. Any notion of what is normal, or reasonable, completely disintegrates, and he contradicts himself so often that it is impossible to hold him to account.

And another thing … I'm not sure why the BBC has a things about Guardian journalists, they're on a par with Daily Mail journalists. Opinionated and sure of themselves - also similar to politicians.

The Sun put out a recording of the interview. Trump is, of course, lying. That is what he does.
What is absolutely clear from the last two days is that he is not someone you can trust or hope to have a rational relationship with.
"The Sun put out a recording of the interview. Trump is, of course, lying. That is what he does."
That was the full transcript? I suspect Trump did say some less nasty things too, but that would spoil the story a little. He could be telling nothing but porkies, but I'm not sure you can rely on any newspaper to tell the total truth.

I know who I'd trust and it wouldn't be Trump.
They were all really good friends until they fell out over his golf course...
Does Mike know?

My liberal nihilism prevents me from comment.
I watch enough Love Island to know a re-coupling when I see one.
He's a player, so perhaps he can sense she's a dark horse.
Has a certain ring to it....
Add in the joy he is bringing to those who get to show off in London for an afternoon and it's the event of the year.
So circumstances have changed
As some might say... unspoofable
I imagine you would vote for him, given the chance. You views seem to align nicely with his.
But you can't deny he is an effective operator - and exciting to watch in action - the danger level is tremendous - anything could happen .

Cannot remember any like it but there is an obvious connection between Trump and May, and it is not just holding hands
Ouch.
Though I'm not sure "me and three other Nazis joined UKIP" is much of a revelation.
