FPT The big issues now are how do you extract 100 people from a theatre and find any runabouts. There are ways of dealing with theatre issue if a) the perpetrators are looking to create an extended event and/or b) do not get too much time or have the tools to prep.

The French are looking at the building plans right now but any strikes prime window needs to be within 2 or so hours of the start or you are looking at an aim of holding events out for maybe 12-18 hours ideally then strike. Either is a stretch because the first requires a very rapid response and b) the latter leaves the actors a little too long to start shooting as they please.

'Already more than twice as many as in the January attacks'

Maybe Merkel can give us an estimate of how many thousands of additional ISIS & Al-Qaeda terrorists we now have in Europe since her open door mass immigration policy was imposed on Europe.

Close by there are two obvious targets, the Louvre and Notre Dame.

I fear not as the reports seem to be of hostage taking. The second mad and sickening attack in Paris after the cartoon based attacks. These do not happen on a whim I suspect and must have been planned for some time.

A bizarre but fair juxtaposition. It raises the question about what is driving these murders. Ignorance must lie at its heart. Its difficult to find a better single word. Nihilism? The way forward for these people seems to be to want to overturn any sense of rational humanity in order to ferment equally rash responses. In themselves these act achieve nothing.

Would you want to be out in this?
  • If it was a suicide bomb at the Stade de France, I find it difficult to believe that it went off when the attackers wanted it to. Surely they would have wanted the crowds around them? If so, that would imply that it exploded prematurely (or possibly late), or that the police / similar exploded it for them.

I'm woefully lacking in detail here but it looks as if the French authorities have:

    a) identified a watch lister who isn't at home
    b) an initial thought not all the perpetrators are French

This is early days and they will be working through such a stream of data and ideas that things will come to the front and then be replaced but we'll see.
