Honestly, if you're going to quit within a fortnight of the election, and before the Queen's Speech, then why on earth stand for election for the party in the first place.

I hope it's only someone of the Edward McMillan-Scott calibre.
Especially as it was in the manifesto.
And then why accept ministerial office knowing you'd have to quit.
Correct. And the ECHR enshrined in the BoR. Flea brains are in all parties. But this is why politics and governance is so full of lethargy wrapped up in inertia..

Hah! Worth it just for that alone.

Speaking of Russian entries, maybe it's been said (not been online this evening. I haven't caught up), but in addition to being quite good last year, the Russian entry contained the lines:

"Cross the line, a step at a time. Maybe there's a place, maybe there's a time. Maybe there's a day you'll be mine"

Which John Oliver famously quipped was essentially an anthem to annexation.

No we can't - Russia should have won last year. Say what you will about them (and I won't, to avoid a lecture about MSM or something), apparently they know how to pick a decent entry, as you cannot rely on tactical votes alone to win or place very highly at least.
