Doesn't seem to make much sense to me for the BoE to have an emergency meeting. Even if they must be sorely tempted to after the Chancellor basically declined any responsibility for controlling inflation through fiscal and other non-monetary measures and effectively dared them to revise their previous decision in view of new unanticipated circumstances (aka the Govt promoting inflationary expansionary policies, whilst simultaneously claiming that the BoE should do everything in its power to control inflation).
For all that, there is unlikely to be much material difference between making a decision now and in 3 weeks, so they might as well do it in 3 weeks and avoid creating a sense of "panic" which is just likely to encourage the markets to attack the £ further. But in 3 weeks, read what the market is anticipating, and double it to give a sense of getting ahead of the problem (to the extent that this is possible).0 -

There does appear to also be resentment and notice being made of who is fighting this war for Russia - basically it is the ethnic minorities and outside countries seem to be beginning to take an interest in this. An ex Mongolian President was getting involved the other day, and apparently in Crimea there has been a big conscription push focussing on Tartars (which won't please Turkey at all). Eh? Governments often include tax or spending changes that weren't in their manifestos. When Gordon Brown put the top rate up from 40% to 45% it wasn't in the 2005 manifesto either. With respect to seeing the USA, last time I got a motel room, for out-of-town jaunt to escape (briefly) this summer's Heat Wave in Seattle, cost for one night in adequate (for me anyway) room in a tired old motel in small town check-by-jowl with naval air station = $95 plus tax, so total about $105
On other hand, my travel cost, entirely via public transit (three separate bus systems plus WA State ferry) was under $15 round trip, though distance was only 90 miles one way.
As for RVs in US, just plucked this from the web, no idea how reliable, but at least a starting point?

Kwasi and Liz have put the cart before the horse and cut the wrong taxes. 1% of the nation will actually see their tax paid go down from one year to the next. Everyone else will pay more tax. And we're borrowing billions to do it. A one of rise in the allowance to £15k and 40p rate to £70k would benefit everyone and have an absolutely huge economic multiplier. i dont think democracy has ever been tested like this with such a large part of the electorate oaps with no skin in the game. They dont work so dont care much about tax and national insurance...nor do they see the change in culture in the modern workplace. They dont have a mortgage so dont care that much about interest rates. Many dont even go out that much so arent hit as much by the rising cost of living.
