Is going to your allotment allowed under the rules? And as a 70+ year old, he really should be adhering to the even stricter rules of not ever going out for the next 12 weeks.
According to today's Grauniad going to your allotment was specifically sanctioned yesterday by Michael Gove. The more tenuous links in the food chain (Peruvian asparagus, for example) are not coming back in a hurry.

Well, he's the expert, but personally I would be surprised if 10% of Londoners haven't already got it/had it. I am keeping my optimistic hat on this morning - large numbers have had it without noticing.

And here, in sunny, silent Penarth, I have just heard an ambulance

    People still have heart attacks.

And probably more so now than ever.

    Ditto chain saw accidents......

To state the bleeding obvious, people with COVID19 do not collapse and die of it in the street. They slowly become more breathless over days.

Whatever happened in that video is not evidence of COVID19.
I don't believe the claim he is death, just collapsed. US and Italian media have shown very similar occurrences in recent days of people who then found to have it.

I am rather concerned by the claim only 10% of Londoners will get it. I just can't see how that is possible, given most countries talk about 50-60-70% of people getting it.

Even if he is talking about this "season" and the big number is total over the course of the disease, still, 10% seems incredibly low.
I think he was talking about this cycle, which he expects to peak in the next two to three weeks.
Clearly there are likely to be more cycles.

There are hundreds of videos of people just collapsing amidst this pandemic. I’m sure many are faked, but all of them?
If you receive no medical attention collapsing in the street is probably what will happen to some.

If he had said he thinks 10% of Londoners have it or have had it, that sounds much more plausible. I didn't see the coverage live, so I don't know exactly what was said, only what was reported in the Guardian (who screwed up NHS could not cope, rather than could now cope).

Maybe he also misspoke. He has had the plague recently after all.

At 10% of London’s population and 7% needing icu beds leaves the need at in Xs of 60,000

I thought the %'s in the Imperial report needing hospitalization / ICU was only of those that show symptoms? But I might be totally mis-remembering this.

I think worldometers updates when ever it gets more info where as the daily figures are at a fixed point 9am in the UK’s case.

I know her background, and yes she definitely has an agenda, and she’s pro-Trump, which normally makes me very suspicious.

But she has been an excellent source of real information out of China, when major western news media are uncritically reporting China’s official stats.

Does anyone believe that this huge nation has basically ZERO cases? It’s nonsense
Even they are not saying that. I know I’m playing devil’s advocate here, and it may be suspiciously low, but they claimed 47 new cases yesterday

    https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/china/

I think they are massaging the figures, but based on what my firm’s Beijing and Shanghai offices are telling us, things have improved beyond measure. People are certainly not kneeling over in the street anyway.

I’m just using the 7% approx of reported cases which obviously would be a lot lower if you knew the real total. So it depends on did he mean 10% actually tested or 10% finger in the air estimate.

She is a child so you try and give the benefit of the doubt but that is very poor form and I think will critically undermine her over the long term.
She's a child, but her campaign is highly professional.

Don't blame her personally, but it is redolent of the way that - at least a part of - her movement thinks

I agree. It goes some way to confirming the suspicions many have had of their motives and beliefs.

But anyway, there will be a fundamental change for globalisation and for global movement in the next few years. That might mean we get to hear less from Ms Thunberg whilst the environment improves. Win-win.

Dougie Alexander was and will still be a fanny of the first order, an absolutely useless erse.
One of the unfortunate consequences of the Salmond trial outcome is that it will embolden the various bampots and bullies in the nationalist movement (Angus Macneil, Joanne Cherry, WIngs et al) while the ones who show some modicum of sense (Nicola, Angus Robertson et al) will be on the back foot and, possibly shown the door. Where they will join the nine disbelieved women in oblivion.
