Just two weeks to the minute after we saw the exit poll there’s some sensational new polling from YouGov for the Times. The figures are above. TMay is now trailing Corbyn as best PM.

Tories adore their leadership contests, and settling scores with each other going back to the time of Brian Boru, but there's no sensible option but to keep calm and carry on right now.0 -

The most important difference I can see is that the EU wants anyone who has previously exercised their right to live or work in the UK/EU to maintain that right indefinitely whereas the UK wants to restrict it to people who are resident on the cut off day. It isn't Theresa May who is harming the conservative party. If she leaves, who takes over? How would the situation be any better for them?
They are destroying themselves by trying to hold on to power with no majority. The more time they spend trying to hold on to power, the worse it will get for them.
Both the 2016 referendum and the 2017 general election were historic misjudgements on the part of their respective leaders. Their credibility is shot as the establishment party of government, but FPTP should ensure they come back.0 -

Parties whose "credibility is shot as the establishment party of government" tend not to win 42.5% of the vote even after the shittiest campaign in history...nielh said:It isn't Theresa May who is harming the conservative party.
Their credibility is shot as the establishment party of government, but FPTP should ensure they come back.0 -
Tories gone soppy. She should have gone two weeks ago.0

I suspect Ken Clarke is deeply regretting his 'bloody difficult woman' slip now since she seems to be turning herself into her own parody based on it.SouthamObserver said:

And fewer rights than the EU is proposing to offer, assuming May wants her terms to be reciprocal.SouthamObserver said:
That's exactly what she's doing. She is proposing the have fewer rights than they do now.ThreeQuidder said:

It is far more generous to UK citizens than the May proposal.0 -
I don't mean to be funny, but don't most people these days make use of storage lockers and do in fact take time to move all their things in?TheScreamingEagles said:twitter.com/NewStatesman/status/878006938969100288
The storage locker business is booming by all accounts.
I know I have...and no I don't own multiple homes.0 -
Because Osborne never made gaffes, right?TheScreamingEagles said:0 -
We'll need to see the full UK government proposal first. All we can say for sure at this stage is that the EU27 proposal is more generous to UK citizens than the British proposal. However, this will now become a negotiation and there'll be compromise on both sides - that means the final settlement is likely to be much better for UK and EU27 citizens than the current UK position is.williamglenn said:
The most important difference I can see is that the EU wants anyone who has previously exercised their right to live or work in the UK/EU to maintain that right indefinitely whereas the UK wants to restrict it to people who are resident on the cut off day. There's a massive gulf between the positions.SouthamObserver said:
Yep - the EU27 are offering a far more generous package to British citizens than the UK government is.williamglenn said:FPT
