If the EU elections do happen it will be interesting to see what happens in Northern Ireland .
The current split is one Sinn Fein, one DUP and one UUP. They use a single transferrable vote there. NI going on what little recent polls show has become more pro Remain than in 2016.
It’s likely Sinn Fein and the DUP will return their MEPs but the interest is the third one .

Our foreign editor Deborah Haynes has spotted Nigel Farage's name in among the report.
Here's his mention: "According to Malloch, Corsi asked him to put Corsi in touch with Assange, whom Corsi wished to interview. Malloch recalled that Corsi also suggested that individuals in the "orbit" of U.K. politician Nigel Farage might be able to contact Assange and asked if Malloch knew them. Malloch told Corsi that he would think about the request but made no actual attempt to connect Corsi with Assange."

Yes someone suggested someone else might contact someone in Farage’s circle to see if they might be able to contact Assange but no one took it further or did anything. Of course presumably you could have just popped into the Ecuador embassy in Knightsbridge anyway to see him after tea at Harrods.

The stay and fight quislings have much to answer for
It isn't preventing them from likely topping an election. Until it might they wont care. People dont care as much as they say they do.
Labour has already lost anyone who was going to change their vote over anti Semitism. The issue will rumble on of course but it's very unlikely to cause further electoral damage.

No but the fact Labour has selected Adonis top of the list (apart from sitting MEPs who got priority anyway) sends a powerful message to remainers and will do a lot to keep them onside and avoid temptation to vote for the LDs or TIG.

No, the target is to keep remainers onside without making an unequivocal commitment to a second referendum and selecting Adonis, who is to remainers what Steve Baker is to leavers, is a smart move, smarter than I thought Labour were capable of.

Thats why I said I wasn't the target audience, keep up. But labours Brexit policy of all options being open, though cynical, is not bad, and with the lds nowhere, tig not really making an impression and the Tories not worthy of a vote labour were worth considering. But Adonis at no.2? The man wants to punish civil servants for doing their jobs, he is personally unsuitable nothing to do with being labour.
And whether someone has ever voted for labour before is a question which can backfire. For some of Corbyn's biggest supporters the answer was no, but they are key to labour now. I've only voted Tory once in any election, labour as a party do not frighten me.

It's a fair point. I would like more parties than we currently have so encouraging them seems fair even if they've not really got much beyond anti corbynism to them. I can go many other places to be anti Corbyn

The polling evidence - for Westminster elections in Scotland - is not that clear at all , but Labour have recently experienced two poor Local By election results there.
Actually the second on the Labour EM list sounds decent too, Leonie Mathers. Hucknall born, former aide to Yvette Cooper. That may well be where my tactical vote goes. Under Dehondt a second Labour MEP may well be a a better outcome than the rather less likely Green or LD.

The Tory party needs to grasp the thistle and clear these morons out. It would cost this government but that is gone anyway. Next time they are in office they might actually be in power.

What fools.
The Brexit inquiry will see the likes of David Davis and Stewart Jackson locked up.
You wanting a bet on that?
Sure.
Come up with some terms/time frames and we can talk.
We need to cover the option if they recant their views or if there’s a drumhead style trial.
Ok, its a long bet but if I will offer you evens on neither being convicted (let alone imprisoned) of a Brexit related offence within 5 years of this date. £50?
Make it a decade.
After all the publication of the Chilcot report was 12 years after Blair persuaded Parliament to support the invasion of Iraq.
Ah, but I may not be alive by then. 5 years is a long, long time on an internet bet.
Clearly the words of a man who has done nothing wrong and expected to be totally exonerated.
So far it seems the defence is that whilst Trump directed subordinates to commit specific crimes there regular day to day crimes got in the way of enacting his will.
I remember not so long ago PB Leavers said Brexit would have been a success if Mrs May was replaced by David Davis or if Mrs May had let David Davis get on with Brexit.
What fools.

I think the longest bet I have is a private bet that we'll have rejoined the EU by 2030.

You honestly think we will have even left by then? Surely May's MV #4067 is pencilled in for March of that year?

Essentially, you'd be betting on Andrew Adonis becoming Prime Minister.
The Labour MEP selections are quite interesting and give some hope to those of us who hope that the party is not completely lost to the Corbynites. There has been no attempt to deselect sitting MEPs, despite the fact that hardly any of them are Corbyn supporters and the selection of Adonis, marmite though he is, in a potentially winnable position sends quite a powerful message to remainers and PV campaigners who might be thinking about switching to TIG or the Lib Dems.

If that happens losing £50 to TSE will be the least of my problems. He makes JRM look sane (almost).

I've got about 6 years left on a 25 year bet that evidence of current life on Mars will be discovered
I've also got a bet with a guy I haven't seen since 6th form (nearly 30 years) about what starts WW3. I went with the HK handover getting cancelled so I've lost but have to pay out if its india/Pakistan

It's funny you say that.

Worrying about the wrong target. Certainly for the EU vote.
The current split is one Sinn Fein, one DUP and one UUP. They use a single transferrable vote there. NI going on what little recent polls show has become more pro Remain than in 2016.
It’s likely Sinn Fein and the DUP will return their MEPs but the interest is the third one .

Mention of Nigel Farage
Our foreign editor Deborah Haynes has spotted Nigel Farage's name in among the report.
Here's his mention: "According to Malloch, Corsi asked him to put Corsi in touch with Assange, whom Corsi wished to interview. Malloch recalled that Corsi also suggested that individuals in the "orbit" of U.K. politician Nigel Farage might be able to contact Assange and asked if Malloch knew them. Malloch told Corsi that he would think about the request but made no actual attempt to connect Corsi with Assange."

For a party which seeks to claim the moral high ground it’s not a great approach but thst stable door has been long not shut.

If only he had had the courage to be himself a bit more when at the top.
In the same way, I still kind of regret the time I turned down sleeping with a man from Greenland. That’s a flag on the map you don’t get many chances at.

And whether someone has ever voted for labour before is a question which can backfire. For some of Corbyn's biggest supporters the answer was no, but they are key to labour now. I've only voted Tory once in any election, labour as a party do not frighten me.
Clare Penny-Farthing on the Labour NE list.
Funny we never talk about a Greenland+ option, when they are the only successful exiteers.

What's the difference between albedo and libido? One increases above an ice sheet, the other below a bedsheet.
Did you know that event ticketing websites sell long haul air tickets as well? So, Viagogo actually reduces your albedo.
It looks WRONG.

The Tory party needs to grasp the thistle and clear these morons out. It would cost this government but that is gone anyway. Next time they are in office they might actually be in power.
