"Extreme pornography" - that which is somewhere between "not to be shared with the vicar" and illegal. No-one admits to having seen it, but everyone seems to have a pretty shrewd idea what it is.
A report: What a person who had nothing to with the original events has to present to Parliament and/or the media many years later. See the Savile Inquiry Report.

Yes, we are all just itching to start eating America's chemical food....
I would be more worried about the high levels of fructose corn syrup. The average American eats about a kilo per month of this stuff embedded in food. It has been associated with many poor health conditions.
At this rate Corbyn will soon have a Blair-style centrist coalition of interests backing him.
Who would have thought that Corbyn's Labour Party would be more closely aligned with the interests of the CBI than the Tories?
Extraordinary.
Yep, Brexit will destroy much of the Tories' core constituency. And the party hierarchy absolutely hates even looking at what its new pro-Brexit C2DE voters might actually want on the economy.
A story that will run and run over coming years...
Jeremy Corbyn’s office has been forced to clarify a statement from the Labour leader after he appeared to suggest the Queen should apologise after the papers revealed that part of her wealth was invested offshore. His spokesman said: “Jeremy did not call for the Queen to apologise, but said anyone who puts money into a tax haven to avoid paying tax should.”

Probably not grounds for resigning.
Bear in mind that "extreme pornography" is the legal term for porn that is illegal to possess in the UK which isn't child pornography. It's things like severe harm-causing BDSM, "snuff" and beastiality. Presumably we're not talking about anything that bad in this case or else collars would have been felt.

Very good.
I could have added many more e.g. Conclusions - Usually written before the inquiry has heard any evidence and the only parts of the report which are read by anyone other than the author.

It’s a very specific legal definition, which considerably postdates the Damien Green raids from nearly a decade ago.
Here are six phrases, chosen entirely at random, also in need of more clear definitions...
The culture has changed
What might have been acceptable 10, 15 years ago
Parliament now needs to look at itself
conduct needs to be improved.
I have fallen below the high standards that we require of the armed forces
I have reflected on my position
The culture has changed. "I can't get away with this anymore"
What might have been acceptable 10, 15 years ago. "My lawyer drafted this."
Parliament now needs to look at itself. "Will this go away if we set up an inquiry?"
Conduct needs to be improved. "We must make sure not to get caught again."
I have fallen below the high standards that we require of the armed forces. "By the time anyone works out what this means this unfortunate affair will have been forgotten."
I have reflected on my position. "My wife has been shouting at me all weekend."

Like death ?
Food in the US just tastes more chemically than it does in Europe. I'm sure it's one of the reasons American life expectancy is less than in the EU.
On topic, maybe the last politician to resign as a matter of honour was Lord Carrington in 1982. He felt that the F.O. (N.B. means Foreign Office) had been poorly-prepared and that this had contributed to the Falklands invasion. I don't think the SoS for Defence resigned.
Carrington's now 98 and has been in the Lords since 1945, i.e. a longer career than the queen. So maybe behaving honourably is good for your health and career.
You missed out the phrase 'this must never happen again'?
Meaning: 'this must never happen again in my term of office, at least not before I resign/retire and draw my gold-plated, index-linked, final salary pension'.
I would like to humbly request the addition of a comma to the penultimate sentence to clarify would might otherwise be considered an unorthodox proclivity.
Margaret Hodge being interviewed on the Paradise Papers was critical of the investment but said that the Treasury should have known as they have authority over the Duchy of Lancaster Fund and should have intervened.
Unfortunately for her it took place in 2005 under her labour government

Is this the same Margaret Hodge?
A prominent Labour politician and a fierce critic of tax avoidance has been accused of hypocrisy after receiving shares in a family company from a foundation based in a tax haven.

All treaties are denuding of sovereignty, in that they "bind" future parliaments and governments.
Trade agreements, that prevent us (for example) being able to mandate how food is labelled, or from having our own standards for food sold in our country, are just one example of this.
And this is why pretty much all treaties contain binding dispute resolution mechanisms. Don't honour our treaty agreements to the ITU: there's a binding mechanism to force us to change.
We need to be realistic about this. The US uses ISDS tribunals, which tend to meet in secret and contain a majority of US judges, as their dispute resolution mechanism. And this is one of the reasons why they have so few free trade agreements. (Plus they've tended to write in a requirement that other countries keep their IP laws in lockstep with the US.)
For these reasons, I would be very surprised if we entered into an FTA with the US any time soon. Our priority must be in replicating the EU's existing agreements with the US, that cover mutual recognition of standards and double taxation. On the tax side, without these agreements being replicated, there either has to be (a) an increase in UK executive power to allow HMRC to ignore existing laws regarding third parties, or (b) real issues for firms that do business in both the US and the UK.
I would like to humbly request the addition of a comma to the penultimate sentence to clarify would might otherwise be considered an unorthodox proclivity.
Well spotted. Perhaps "porn and cat videos" is a form of "extreme" porn? Not so much kinky sex as kitty sex.....
Our priority must be in replicating the EU's existing agreements with the US...
The problem is that once you through everything up in the air, you reopen all the politically difficult compromises that have taken years to become established. Even replicating exiting agreements becomes problematic even on our side, let alone a third party that has little interest in facilitating an orderly Brexit.
I would like to humbly request the addition of a comma to the penultimate sentence to clarify would might otherwise be considered an unorthodox proclivity.

Yes, my coat is nearby.
As a very new police officer in Edinburgh in the 1960's I was shown extreme porn that had been confiscated included animal and cats and I cannot say how shocked and disgusted I was.
I do believe the police officers involved in investigating illegal and child abuse porn must have a switch that enables them to detach themselves from what they are looking at.
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn appeared to suggest earlier that the Queen should apologise over the revelation that £10m ($13m) of her private money was invested offshore, before his team rowed back, saying that wasn't what he meant.

Have team twat released they have overreached?
No, they have realised it happened on Labour's watch!
Patel will be fine. Boris' total ****ing incompetence will eclipse her meeting.
Edited extra bit: no markets beyond winner up yet, but intrigued Betfair has Verstappen shorter than Vettel (Ladbrokes has the German 4.33, the Dutchman 4.5).
Sources say the “disturbing material” allegedly found on Mr Green’s computer was referred by cops to then Director of Public Prosecutions Sir Keir Starmer.
He ruled it was not criminal and no further action was taken.
Full and frank disclosure we don’t think they’ve got any more dirt than has already been published but are keeping our fingers crossed for the Sundays....

The problem with "I'm sorry" is that it is taken as a full admission of guilt for anything vaguely related to the original complaint.
Even if someone is genuinely sorry, they cannot take the risk.
Now if "I'm sorry, I won't do it again" was followed by "You're forgiven" then we might see it being used a bit more.

@ProfChalmers: But that legislation did not come into force until early 2009, and could not apply here.
@ProfChalmers: (The legislation had been passed before the office raid, so the term was legally meaningful even then - but it wasn't yet in force.)
If May had any gumption she would sack Priti and BoZo today, but she won't.
