Hillary calling NATO the oldest military alliance in the world. What about England/Portugal?
Where are those bloody fact checkers!
Must have been quite a moment in the Commons when Churchill announced:
"I have an anouncement to make to the House arising out of the Treaty signed between this country and Portugal in the year 1373 between His Majesty King Edward III and King Ferdinand and Queen Eleanor of Portugal."
This moderator is awful. Firstly, he forgot to give Trump his time to rebut Clinton, then he calls Trump out of support for Iraq War (which is fine), but doesn't seem to have the citation on hand.
Trump hit Hillary on Middle East but farcical section on his support for the Iraq War and interviews with Hannity and Howard Stern and Hillary cracking up
Hillary calling NATO the oldest military alliance in the world. What about England/Portugal?
Not really a functional alliance given that Portugal was neutral in WWII.
And this, from wikipedia:
'Upon the declaration of war in September 1939, the Portuguese Government announced on 1 September that the Anglo-Portuguese Alliance remained intact, but since the British did not seek Portuguese assistance, Portugal would remain neutral. In an aide-mémoire of 5 September 1939, the British Government confirmed the understanding. British strategists regarded Portuguese non-belligerency as "essential to keep Spain from entering the war on the side of the Axis."'
It does show how f##ked up America where the POTUS candidate has to say well I think we need to ban those on terrorist watch list from buying a gun as a policy!
Especially somebody who has been in power for 8 years...
It is hard to put yourself in the shoes of non-coastal American, rather than a European, especially part of the London Elite (just joshing on last part).
It is really hard to know how Trump's rambling plays in small towns in Mid West that are losing jobs being outsourced etc.
Both of them look pretty bad, and reinforce negatives we knew about them already. Trump rambling and incoherent, Clinton smug and patronising. Would an American who was undecided before this be likely to pick one as a result?

Probably too busy looking up how to apply for Canadian citizenship on the back of this!!!

Trump started off very strong on bring up Ohio, Iowa, Michigan, Indiana by name. No doubt who he is playing to.

People prefer to be patronised by a younger model?
Trump and Hillary are doing their best to lose this debate.
I can't see either getting much boost out of this, the race is going to the wire
Trump has been awful, Clinton has gone between Clinton-Bot-2000 and then went all "everybody is racist", which won't play well outside her base.
Trump has been rambling, Clinton has been an automaton and as you say playing to her base
To be fair, both have rambled there way through this. I don't think I've heard a single policy statement.
no one cares about policy anymore unfortantley, atleast the media don't.
90 mins, no policy at all. F##king awful.
I still don't have a single idea what Clinton's policies are at all...something to do with tax the rich and allow college grads to refinance their student loans.
And Trump, not a clue...build a wall, some undetailed massive tax cut, nuke ISIS.

Well the debate is over, Hillary is the next president but just because Trump was even more terrible than Hillary.
What was Trump doing all these weeks about preparing for the debate ?
I really does not matter how this played to a British audience, but how it played with the non-voters that Trump might bring to the table. Trump is playing a different game, which us politicos find hard to understand or accept as even possibly being effective.
So did Kerry in 2004, both won much bigger victories than Hillary maybe won tonight. They did not win but at least narrowed their losing margin, this was certainly no JFK 1960 or Reagan 1980 debate either which probably really did win a tight election
Moderator again bringing up a negative for Trump as a "question"..basically you are a sexist aren't you Donald. Not once has he done that for Clinton.
thats his own fault.
There is plenty to do the same for Clinton, that is my only point.
I guess he could of bought up the depolarable, but there is no comparison she hasn't said racist, sexist things during the campaign.
Clinton Foundation, Deplorables, Emails....plenty to go on. The liberal leaning, Clinton supporting, Last Week Tonight managed a good 10 mins without even trying.
BREAKING NEWS......left handed half black half Korean gay voters say....BREAKING NEWS....one armed white Vets who list their favourite sport as baseball say....is normally how they do their polls.

Labour - the NASTY Party.
Don't give a care what it is but anything?.....At all?
He constantly puts trump on the question defensive but not Clinton
The last 5 minutes have been mod against Trump it just has

But since Trump has worse tracks, Trump is the bigger loser.
I'm on Twitter instead as it's pointless viewing

I think they are both mad by the way.
I sold @ 9% at the height of pneumoniagate.
I've cashed out.

HRC had nearly 2 minutes to sum up
30 seconds into a sum up the mod is interrupting Trump . Then mod then throws a provocative question about Clintons ability. Trump is on defensive
Asks Clinton to then respond
Moderator neutral .....Like fuck.
I think Trump is a loony but I an not going to give HRC a pass either
He still is interrupting Trump.
Clear Clinton win the moderator ensured it. Asked if Clinton wins would Trump support it. He said yes
Did not ask HRC same question. Telling
What was Trump doing all these weeks about preparing for the debate ?
Hints from Luntz that the undecideds prefer him.
He's the next President.
Looking forward to the first UK State Visit..
Guessed I missed it and was refreshing the screen
