I will have seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens 3 times before 9:30am Thursday.
I have tickets to the 00:05, 03:30 and 07:30 showings
I recall watching Phaton Menace twice in a day when it came out.
I'll probably only watch it once at the IMAX just outside my door, still trying to decide between 3am 6am or 10am, will decide based on how I feel on Wednesday.
I'm watching it at one of the only two IMAX cinemas in the UK that will be showing the proper 3D IMAX print.
I'm unbelievably smug about that.
Then I see the 4DX version at 7.30am
You can get 3D on 4k digital too......
Real IMAX is dying out, as the prints are so expensive and degrade quickly, and the projector is a piece of work.

My local cinema just recently spent lots of money upgrading their IMAX screen. Is a piece of beauty.
And the Scottish government did have responsibility: since the abolition of tolls, they were directly funding the bridge. And they reduced that funding. If they wanted to be absolved of most of the responsibility, they should either not have removed tolls, or kept the direct grant at the same level as tolls per vehicle using the bridge. They did not.
So what you are really saying is that it is David Cameron's fault (or at least the coalition). They were the ones funding the Scottish Government. And they reduced that funding.

I find the mental contortions you are going through to absolve the SNP from responsibility to be quite funny. It seems the saying: "the buck stops here" has no resonance within Scottish nationalist circles ...

If it is recent, isn't it far more likely to be digital and not 70mm film?
I'm absolutely certain the GSC IMAX is film only (it's kind of the point of it being attached to the Science Centre) and it's been there for over a decade now.

I blame the tax payers, I mean they fund the government and the government fund the Scottish government and they reduced the funding.

No need to worry - I'm sure they're Duracell coppertop. D cells would look more impressive to the observer
Oh no, please no. Any female observer - well this one anyway - would be putting her clothes on and getting the hell out of there as fast as her "F*ck me" shoes would permit.
If this Star Wars nonsense continues (I have put a post up in response to Mr Palmer, who is no doubt having his dinner rather than responding, and which I consider quite a good post) I may - whatever the delightful Mr Llama may say - take myself back to Paris with my gorgeous companion.......

Nope, all 3D films are free.
With the monthly 20gbp presumably. That's a good deal.
Here retail it's something like movie$10, liemax $4, 3d $4. The chains have various clubs, membership offers etc. When I grew up in England all the cinemas were lovely converted theaters. Here they are all white sterile cubes and I love movies but generally hate going to the cinema.
Hundreds of asylum-seekers entering Norway were discovered to have images of ‘executions’ and ‘severed heads’ on their mobile phones.
The revelation comes amid heightened fears that ISIS is exploiting the migrant crisis to smuggle fighters into Europe, following last month’s attacks in Paris.
Police admitted that the ‘explosion’ of refugees crossing into the country over the summer and in recent months meant that security checks were less thorough than required, and weren’t checking the background of those entering the country.
No, the point is that a number of DIFFERENT decisions were made.
The decisions the SNP got to make, they made correctly. The decisions FETA got to make, they made correctly.
The decisions Labour got to make. They have chosen... poorly.
Oh I see. The fact that this bridge has suddenly had to be closed because it is in a dangerous state is the result of people making correct decisions. Forgive me, I am not used to the Scottish way of doing things
While in Scotland, we prefer a thrifty SNP government, who tries to get value out of every penny they spend (hence spending the same on the NHS as 8 years ago with significantly improved outcomes).
In England the main road into the capital city is still open.

I remember back in 2003 when Cineworld first came out with their "all inclusive membership" (they were called something else then, I wa binging 4 or 5 films a week.
They'd just built a vertical cinema block in Glasgow, with 18 screens, was fantastic. Think it's still the tallest purpose built cinema complex in the world.
IIRC the Swedes have decided they don't want so many anymore - so guessing Norway is the next best option. Germany's a long walk. And Merkel's cold chilly on them too.

Very strong turnout of Con Peers today - 201 - not quite as high as on Tax Credits (215) or Individual Voter Registration (208) - but 201 is still exceptionally high.
FOR VOTES AT 16: Crossbench - 10 Labour - 136 Lib Dems - 89 Other - 11 TOTAL - 246
AGAINST VOTES AT 16: Bishops - 1 Conservative - 201 Crossbench - 54 Labour - 1 Other - 6 TOTAL - 263
Main Parties turnout: Con = 201 out of 251 = 80% Labour = 136 out of 213 = 64% Lib Dems = 89 out of 111= 80%
So exceptional turnout by Lib Dems as well - as they are very keen on votes at 16. But Lab Peers didn't make any special effort - 64% is only marginally above what might be expected on a "routine" day.
But note Con still needed to win the Crossbenchers by a big margin - which they did.
They'd just built a vertical cinema block in Glasgow, with 18 screens, was fantastic. Think it's still the tallest purpose built cinema complex in the world.
Crowd Scores is a great app. Can't think where I saw it plugged.....
Crowdscores is the brainchild of my son Robert who manages to technical side of PB.
Indeed, I was joking when I said i couldn't remember where it was first plugged to me. A number of my fellow locals swear by it after I encouraged them to download it. All credit to Smithson Junior for creating such a great app.

You're welcome. It's a seriously cracking app, and doesn't have the insane number of updates that too many Android apps seem to have.

I have my $12 a month Netflix membership. They send me 3 dvd movies at a time, and when I send them back 3 more arrive 2 days later. I have a nice big 4k HD and a 7.1 sound system. I get both better sound and better picture than at the cinema. DVDs come with extras like 'making of' etc. I just have to wait 3-6 months after release.
I'm not a streaming fan. I have amazon prime TV for that.
Once in a while I'll go watch a movie at the cinema. I go friday lunchtime. I saw Spectre with 4 other people on opening day. That evening you would have needed a shoehorn to get in.
Purpose built - I live near the largest mall south of DC and east of Dallas. They have a 21 screen multiplex with an 'IMAX'. It's not purpose built - it's part of the mall.
My wife is from Glasgow. When we went up there in the late 70s there was something called the "Clydeside Expressway". It had a 45mph limit, traffic lights and a fire station on it. It was hilarious.
I imagine it has changed greatly since then. It was a sad place and down on its luck.
I agree with Mike and Guido. Osborne definitely comes across as a bit weird, although more in a John Redwood way than an Ed Miliband way. The Tories will always win against a Corbyn led Labour party, but post-Corbyn Labour would be much more competitive with George as Tory leader. I could also see them getting rid of Corbyn faster as Osborne could easily become a Thatcher-style hate figure for the left, making them more intent on knocking him out of power.

Glasgow in the 60s, 70s and 80s would have put many third world cities to shame. The Loyalists gutted the heart of the city and then left it like that - a rubble strewn wasteland - for the best part of 20 years while building defective tower blocks that destroyed people's lives.
The Clydeside Expressway is a 5 mile Freeway with no interruptions to traffic flow. It merges into Dumbarton Road which is a typical 4 lane city street and has traffic lights, fire stations, etc..
When Labour rediscovers its moral compass it will find a listener in me. If it does.
I am not hopeful.
Well, I agree up to a point - sympathy for underdogs should not slide into sympathy for evil. But your earlier post suggests you were in thoroughly disaffected mode long before any Islamist issue arose? That doesn't mean we shouldn't listen to your views anyway - but not, I suggest, in realistic hope that we will thereby gain your support? If even ID cards put you off in such dramatic fashion that you never wished to hear from Labour again until they had totally reconsidered this and many other things, well...
On Star Wars, however, you are very sound. I've tried to see the original movie twice. Don't get it at all.

The Liberal councillor who was chair of FETA said that no work was required at the time.
So you are admitting catastrophically slack oversight by the FM's office of this critical transport quango ?
The SNP Scottish Government has done everything right.
Yet the bridge is closed and remains closed for the longest time in it's history - all on the SNP's watch - despite repeated warnings from engineers that faults needed fixed.
SNP - can't be trusted with critical infrastructure.
LOL, should they have shut it when it was not broken then
And the Scottish government did have responsibility: since the abolition of tolls, they were directly funding the bridge.

TIMB is your typical fanny that emigrates to America and then slags UK. Guy is an absolute dumpling, ate too many squirrel brains I reckon.

Pointless arguing with him , he is all knowing
To be honest, he is all ignoring.
I know this is late to the thread, but come on. Your defence of the SNP of this is as facile as it is expected.
And I'm not sure you should be talking about the honesty of other posters.

Real IMAX is dying out, as the prints are so expensive and degrade quickly, and the projector is a piece of work.
An IMAX 3D movie ticket here is $18 which is ludicrous.
Cineworld Sheffield and Leicester Square Empire are the only ones doing the proper 3D IMAX.

I find the mental contortions you are going through to absolve the SNP from responsibility to be quite funny. It seems the saying: "the buck stops here" has no resonance within Scottish nationalist circles ...
I'm absolutely certain the GSC IMAX is film only (it's kind of the point of it being attached to the Science Centre) and it's been there for over a decade now.
If this Star Wars nonsense continues (I have put a post up in response to Mr Palmer, who is no doubt having his dinner rather than responding, and which I consider quite a good post) I may - whatever the delightful Mr Llama may say - take myself back to Paris with my gorgeous companion.......

There's a £6.30 uplift for IMAX films and £4.50 for 4DX films
Here retail it's something like movie$10, liemax $4, 3d $4. The chains have various clubs, membership offers etc. When I grew up in England all the cinemas were lovely converted theaters. Here they are all white sterile cubes and I love movies but generally hate going to the cinema.
And I'll stop with my lazy stereotyping of Norfolk people.
"Squeal like a pig"
"Like a pig?"
"Yes, I'd like a pig"
Must be benefits.
They'd just built a vertical cinema block in Glasgow, with 18 screens, was fantastic. Think it's still the tallest purpose built cinema complex in the world.
Must be benefits.

We also cover Dagenham and Redbridge games live.
And no adverts.
What's not to like?
All credit to Smithson Junior for creating such a great app.
Edit: oops maybe too early...
"You're going down with Villa"
Chelsea are not often underdogs but their form makes them that on Monday, and I don't think their manager Jose Mourinho will mind.
It is in Mourinho's DNA to go away to teams and make things difficult for the opposition, and I think they will leave with a point.
