Corbyn wins on first ballot with 59%, Burnham edges Cooper to take second. Good result for yougov too. Labour has now officially elected its most leftwing leader since Michael Foot
Strongest tone I've yet seen from Corbyn - he can get a bit more passionate after all, I was worried he was stuck in understated mode. I knew that was a bit calculated.

It's going to be really difficult to unseat him with that result.
Sickening display of false comradeship. Let the show trials begin.
Yvette would have been a perfectly acceptable leader and at last a woman. Ridiculous vote. Madness beyond belief. But I didn't have a vote. I'm not Labour. I did have a bet on her though believing even until last week that sense would prevail.

Look, Jeremy, I didn't mind Ed M, but he really was not a very good leader, you don't have to pretend otherwise just because you will both be getting abuse from the media.
Southam Observer... I genuinely feel for the serious Labour supporters such as yourself.I think today was a serious blow to the Party you have always been loyal to..I hope that very soon your party will reverse its fortunes.
For a tory who remembers the dark days of April 2015, when the tories and labour were tied on 34 with yougov and many were openly talking of a labour SNP deal....
Turns out he does have a sense of humour too. But his comments about the abuse the media gives still indicates he's going to rage against every machine, whether or not it could be made to work for him.

Well its just too, too good.
Pride comes before a fall. .....that fall is going to be the global sovereign debt crisis for your tory government.
That's the only moment of good taste in the whole farrago.
The Funeral March from Siegfrid would be more appropriate
Actually, Bruckner's adagio was inspired by the death of Wagner, I believe.
As Bruckner worked on this slow movement he heard news of the death of his idol Richard Wagner, and instantly decided to dedicate it to his remembrance. (notes to Ivan Fischer's recording of 7th Symphony).
So for the second time in a row the Leader of the Labour party got less than 1/2 of the actual members to vote for them. or the 3rd time in a row if you include Gordon Browns efforts to inshore he never got to an election.

I'm amazed Andy beat her.
I got the other percentages off but I got Corbyn's pretty damn close
Best £3 I ever spent.
Though I have had some pretty decent pints for less. Nothing like a Hobsons Best Bitter in a rural Shropshire pub.

95% of PB'ers underestimated corbyn's share, just 5% overestimated.
Fireworks.

It's coming home
