Nul points from Ukraine gives the measure of how bad our entry was. (Although the phone vote may be different...)

OK, then, any more aurorae tonight?

Suposed to be but the aurora watch site is down at the moment so no idea about the current strength of the solar storm. NOAA currently has it as a G3 but predicted to increase to G4 (last night was G5)
I'm getting the Aurorawatch updates via the API and the current status is "Yellow", or 2 on a 4 point scale. That would normally be pretty unexciting but it can stay more active than expected after a big shock so it might still be worth a look.

    PS: Switzerland? Really?

Yes, Israel was always expected to win the tele vote, not the jury vote. Where always means after the leaks from Italy and Sweden at the semi-final stage.

Why? It just shows the public view of Israel (both the country and the behaviour of the singer and her entourage) in the arena. And from what I've heard from friends there its throughly deserved...

It was, because they were always likely to have trouble with the jury vote. But Italian television showed Israel had 40% of the semi-final tele vote, and a Swedish poll showed the same. Add to that conspiracy theories about the war, and... no, you are right, they were too short.

Israel into 14, probably due to layers cashing out.

    Switzerland 1.8

Hanging juries? With Judge Roy Bean (or reasonable facsimile) aka "The Law West of the Pecos" presiding.

In addition to dealing with outlaws, rustlers, etc. with dispatch in his patch, the Judge was a keen music critic, at least to the extent of being a huge fan of Lilly Langtry. So much so that he called his combination saloon - law office "The Jersey Lilly" and the railroad hamlet where it was located Langtry, Texas.

Lilly Langtry had many, many admirers, from the Prince of Wales (later Edward Vii) and other royalty to humble admirers from near and far. However, Judge Roy Bean is the ONLY one to be reported (at least in the Paul Newman movie) to have ended his career in a blaze of glory, proclaiming "For Texas and Miss Lilly!"

If the Eurovision broadcast felt very slightly uncanny valley - this article may explain why. https://www.simonhardwick.com/posts/why-did-the-eurovision-song-contest-look-odd-this-year/?s=08

For those not bothered to click we expect film to be at 24 frames a second, TV at 50 frames per second and anything else freaks our brains out.
