I repeat what I said yesterday, it is unwise to come to any conclusion over Kirk's assassination until it is factually approved and accepted

Musk speaks at the protest via video link. What a world we live in.

Sounds like Musk is calling for the government to be overthrown by violent means.
    From The Guardian Live Blog:

"Elon Musk has addressed crowd attending the “unite the kingdom” march, via video link. He spoke to march leader, far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, over the video call.

Musk claimed that a “dissolution of parliament” and a “change of Government” is needed in the UK. He said: “I really think that there’s got to be a change of Government in Britain. You can’t - we don’t have another four years, or whenever the next election is, it’s too long. Something’s got to be done. There’s got to be a dissolution of Parliament and a new vote held.”

Musk told the march rally: “My appeal is to British common sense, which is to look carefully around you and say ‘If this continues, what world will you be living in?’
“This is a message to the reasonable centre, the people who ordinarily wouldn’t get involved in politics, who just want to live their lives. They don’t want that, they’re quiet, they just go about their business.

“My message is to them: if this continues, that violence is going to come to you, you will have no choice. You’re in a fundamental situation here. Whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you. You either fight back or you die, that’s the truth, I think.”

The X owner told the crowd “the left are the party of murder”, referring to the death of Charlie Kirk. He said: “There’s so much violence on the left, with our friend Charlie Kirk getting murdered in cold blood this week and people on the left celebrating it openly. The left is the party of murder and celebrating murder. I mean, let that sink in for a minute, that’s who we’re dealing with here.”

Musk also said that the British public are “scared to exercise their free speech” and claimed the BBC was “complicit in the destruction of Britain”.

When they finished their conversation, Robinson said: “Not only are we in the fight right now, but we’re on the advance thanks to free speech being fought for, for us, by Elon Musk.”"

Is there a bye law that requires Robinson real name to be included every time he is mentioned? It’s profoundly weird.
Wooliedyed, who's real name is Dyedwoolie, agrees
I wonder if there is some issue with someone else of a similar name, in which case it's a way of identifying the Tommy Robinson in question unambiguously and neutrally.
I dont think it it’s that. I think they don’t like him and thus like to make the point that he goes under an alias.

Weirdly they don’t feel the same need for actors, or anyone else with a different name.

This has now been reported by Fox and by The NYPost, independently speaking to the FBI. I suspect it is true

It’s not a hard thing to discover. “Who was this guy living with”
Fox, the NY Post and Patel lead corrupt FBI are hardly reliable sources . I’ll wait till a more trusted source reports this .

Starmer would give his right arm for a reason to postpone it right now
Who could have predicted that the ‘master stroke’ invitation would turn into a stinking albatross round Starmer’s neck? Well, me for one.

Trump pegging it while in Britain would raise the conspiracy theories to the sky.

I hope Trump's doctors have been accurate in permitting him to fly.
Why would Starmer want to postpone the state visit? According to Tim Shipman in the Knapper's all the ducks are in a row on various things UK government wants done or out of the visit and Trump is wetting himself at a night at Windsor Castle. The prep work has all been done.

Very true (as a righty), if AOC (just trying to think of a US lefty) was addressing a PA rally there would be plenty of people telling her to mind their own business and sort out her own country’s problems first.
Can you imagine the furore in the USA if a high profile Brit was live screened into a rally and asked for US elections to remove Trump .
We don't have to imagine, since we've experienced our own PBers, along with GOP politicians, getting seriously wound up by a bit of phone banking.

    We just need to EXTRAPOLATE...

Didn't you opt to sit on your hands in the election? Now you're complaining that Labour aren't up to the job. Sorry David this next 4 years of failure is on you and the other million Tory voters who sat on their hands and watched while Labour got handed a gigantic majority for a tiny number of votes. People like Leon bear some of the responsibility too for getting caught up in that idiotic attitude of "oh the Tories must be punished" without thinking about the consequences of that and voting for Labour knowing how much damage they would inflict on the nation.

I went out and campaigned, had doors shut in my face, got shouted at, sworn at and tried to make sure it wasn't a complete disaster because we all knew what Labour would do with untrammeled power and so it has happened.

EXCLUSIVE: Charlie Kirk assassin Tyler Robinson lived with his transgender partner, sources tell me.

The individual, who is a male transitioning to a female, is fully cooperating with the FBI.

Sources tell me the FBI had texts and other communications between Robinson and the individual that helped FBI authorities solidify that Robinson was indeed the shooter.

    https://x.com/brookesingman/status/1966889202412347602?s=46&t=bulOICNH15U6kB0MwE6Lfw

I mean the whole bulge/OwO thing was a giveaway that he was in the queer/transgender/furry sphere so this shouldn't be a surprise.

As I said yesterday, when the evidence comes out we're likely going to see a kid who grew up in a conservative family, rebelled in his teenage years and then radicalised in his early 20s to become a hard left terrorist who thinks shooting people who he disagreed with is all good.

To me this is a problem of gun control and lack of insane asylums and his parents not being able to spot the signs of radicalisation. At least from an immediate "how do we stop this from happening again" perspective. From an education and "how do we change our culture so that people don't meet words with bullets" it's way more difficult and I definitely don't have the answers but it's got to start at schools and making platforms accountable for the kind of hateful stuff we've seen from the left calling for such and such "next" including his wife, other right wing commentators and not moderating calls to violence.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised at all if we end up seeing that this bastard has been watching Hasan Piker and other hard left commentators who regularly call for violence against political opponents.

    That's odd.
    It's usually the parents' responsibility.
Well I did say that it's up to the parents to be better able to spot the signs of radicalisation and then report that to the relevant authorities. Ultimate this man was an adult, I don't see what his parents could really do to prevent him from searching out and watching content that directly or indirectly calls for violence against political opponents. Not even the first amendment covers speech that incites violence and making platforms legally liable for moderating users who regularly call for violence or put bounties on those who disagree with them has to be considered? I know you're trying to be facetious but this was a 22 year old man probably watching endless content calling for the violent action against political opponents, not a 14 year old kid trying to get a look at some tits. They aren't the same thing.
You've quite literally made up a scenario in your head about something on the other side of the world.
Meanwhile. Foreigners are actually inciting a huge crowd to violence and insurrection in the UK.
And you choose to be angry about one of them.
And yet the most recent examples of MP intimidation have come from the hard left Gaza idiots against moderate Labour MPs. Pull the other one.
Unless you overthrow our democratically elected government, "Violence is going to come to you." Elon Musk.
I'll leave you to ponder that.
I just read it and the context is that he's suggesting that the violence will come from the hard left and that moderates need to back an early election to avoid it. I mean it's pretty obvious that he's not telling that crowd to go out and kill people.
How does he propose that moderates bring about an early election and who should theses moderates vote for when they do? We need to understand the details of what being suggested here. That's only fair.

No, I voted Tory with a heavy heart because I thought that they were the biggest threat to the SNP in my constituency. They were but they still lost. What I didn't do this time, unlike the past, is knock on doors or deliver leaflets like you did. I didn't think Sunak's government with idiocies like Rwanda deserved active support.

If MPs want him out, they’ll be able to get him out. Johnson’s fall is probably the blueprint - if you can’t get MPs to serve in your government then you can’t run one.

I’m not saying it’s the most likely outcome, but the pressure is starting to ratchet up. It is instructive that The Guardian ran a story on the plotting to remove Starmer today, and the BBC has now started to allude to it as well. That suggests that in Labour circles this is now actively being talked about.

    Oh well
I think it was me, CR and HYFUD warning the rest of you on the centre right not to listen to the mob baying for Tory blood because of Liz Truss and Boris Johnson. If Rishi had taken over two years earlier between him and Hunt the country would have been in a much better place today and I don't think the party would have been wiped out. It was Rishi that turned off the immigration tap, it was Rishi that pushed for the Rwanda scheme and faced off against the liberal wanky judges, it was Rishi that put a halt to the chagos islands surrender. You judged the Tories on the basis of what Boris and Liz Truss did, which is fair, but ultimately they were gone and there's no doubt that Rishi was a better PM than Starmer and Hunt a better Chancellor than Reeves.

I think you and a couple of million soft centre right voters got caught up in the media nonsense about "punishing" the Tories and forgot that the resulting Labour government would be worse in all aspects, especially on immigration and stopping the boats.

Dan Hodges in the Daily Mail - 'He's not even in the top three most important people': Ministers tell me who REALLY runs the Government, why Keir Starmer is now alone and without allies... and the disturbing influence of Tony Blair:
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-15095011/Keir-Starmer-allies-Tony-Blair-DAN-HODGES.html

"To properly understand the crisis that has detonated beneath Keir Starmer’s government with the firing of Peter Mandelson, you first have to understand this. It isn’t actually Keir Starmer’s government at all. Look around his administration and you will notice a common thread running through it. One that leads all the way back to Tony Blair and the New Labour administration of 1997.

First, there is Mandelson himself. The common perception is he returned from the political wilderness last December to become Starmer’s man in Washington. But in reality, he was already exerting his Machiavellian – his critics would say malign – influence via his close friendship with Starmer’s senior aide Morgan McSweeney. ‘Morgan and Peter were in constant contact,’ a minister told me."

Is it though? How easy it it for him to be removed? A Tory PM you could see falling over this, but Labour? A year after a crushing (if fluky) election win?

    I wouldn’t be backing a 2025 exit.

Maybe but as well know the media is a massive circle of reporting. They all pick up stories from each other.

I just can’t see Starmer going over this. It’s far too soon. A year from the election, if things are still in the doldrums then yes.

    No, we don't.

"Piss off, you twat" would suffice.

It’s the fact he owns X, starlink and SpaceX, and can therefore cause almost any national government serious grief. AND he has the ear of the POTUS, even if Trump sometimes abjures him

And after Kirk’s death I expect the American right to band together in the face of a lethal enemy. There will be less internal feuding

We may wish it otherwise - I often do, bring back the British empire - but a mere British prime minister is arguably less powerful than a man like Musk

Amazing to think that Hodges was once billed as 'the Blairite cuckoo in Ed Miliband's Nest'.

I think that would be something of an overreaction.
Why? Why does the law not apply to him? Because he is rich? It's ridiculous.
He's, literally, promoted the idea of civil war in the UK many times. If they weren't too scared to act for political.and economic reasons, they would have acted on him long go.
I believe it’s common now to use five armed police to arrest people who have made comments on social media whilst in another country. I assume that’s the fate of Musk next time he lands on U.K. soil.
Musk's not on bail is he?

I gave Starmer the benefit of the doubt. I honestly and sincerely had absolutely no idea he would be THIS terrible. Who did? Maybe @Casino_Royale

Do I regret my vote? Not really. Inasmuch as I voted with the info available to me. I couldn’t vote Tory because of the last 14 years. Obvs. I was tempted to go reform but then Farage made those weird pro Putin noises at exactly the wrong moment. I despise the Lib Dems

So I thought Why not. He might be surprisingly competent. If anyone can reform the NHS it’s Labour - Tories too scared etc

    Oh well
I think it was me, CR and HYFUD warning the rest of you on the centre right not to listen to the mob baying for Tory blood because of Liz Truss and Boris Johnson.

The Tories deserve to go extinct for the Boriswave. Not just lose an election. They need to die out completely. What they did is unforgivable

I want them replaced by reform ASAP and it seems a large chunk of the country agrees with me

How can they ever come back from what they did?
Reform are economically illiterate (well, most of them. Some of them are just ruthlessly cynical) and have no idea about foreign affairs, as their sucking up to Trump and, in the old days, Putin show. Arguably even less than the current government do they deserve to be anywhere near power.

The bullet markings weren't rubbish, the interpretation was: the ATF guy said "transgender and anti-fascist", but the remarks were actually gamer slang. Similarly, some sources are saying "partner", some are saying "roomie". So I'd wait to see what the facts are.

Starting to get serious for Starmer.
I'd vaguely assumed that Mandelson's association with Epstein had been in the public domain for several years. Was this association completely unknown until the last few days?
I think Starmer was asked about Yum Yum using Jeff's place post-conviction in an interview a few months before he became PM
    The question is very specific

You have a gift for narrative and fabulism. People don't believe facts, they believe stories, so your ability to fit a narrative to disparate facts is believable but not necessarily true. Wait to see what actually happened instead of dripfeeding leaks in real time.

Out of curiosity, have any PBers been on a protest march?

Where do I start? I helped organise an anti-UDI March in Manchester together with the then Tony Greaves. But 1968 was the big one - Grosvenor Square. Later that year I was on an anti-Vietnam March in Sofia which was hijacked by the local Peoples Militia.

I disagree, the next 4 years will prove me right and if Reform get a majority without a Tory coalition they'll poison the well for right wing politics for a generation IMO. The best outcome will be a Tory/Reform coalition. Reform to keep the Tories on the straight and narrow wrt immigration and boat arrivals and the Tories to ensure that Reform don't completely trash the economy.

WASHINGTON — Charlie Kirk’s alleged shooter Tyler Robinson was living with a transgender partner who was in the process of transitioning from a male to a female, a law enforcement source confirmed to The Post Saturday.

    https://nypost.com/2025/09/13/us-news/charlie-kirk-shooter-tyler-robinson-lived-with-transgender-partner/

Can we put this to bed now? He’s an antifa lefty inspired by pro-trans beliefs to kill a “fascist and transphobe” AKA Charlie Kirk

Was that the same source who made up the rubbish about the bullet markings .
This has now been reported by Fox and by The NYPost, independently speaking to the FBI. I suspect it is true

It’s not a hard thing to discover. “Who was this guy living with”
Wow two sources that make the Telegraph look credible.
    This is tiresome and JEJUNE

Believe it or not the Post is quite a serious paper, in the same way that the Sun is, in the UK. Yes they will do wild and provocative front pages, and probably embroider less important news, but for actual politics and hard news they are easily as careful and ambitious as, say, guardian journalists

They like to get scoops and they hate to get things wrong. Bad for the career
yes and here they are clearly trying to put disinformation out before it comes out that Robinson was a big big Nick Fuentes fan

The individual, who is a male transitioning to a female, is fully cooperating with the FBI.

Sources tell me the FBI had texts and other communications between Robinson and the individual that helped FBI authorities solidify that Robinson was indeed the shooter.

If he ever comes to this country he needs to be arrested for this. Inciting violence and indeed insurrection. Right now he should be banned and so should his companies.
I think that would be something of an overreaction.
Why? Why does the law not apply to him? Because he is rich? It's ridiculous.
Yes, that unfortunately is the reason the law doesn’t apply to him.
    It’s not just the money

It’s the fact he owns X, starlink and SpaceX, and can therefore cause almost any national government serious grief. AND he has the ear of the POTUS, even if Trump sometimes abjures him

And after Kirk’s death I expect the American right to band together in the face of a lethal enemy. There will be less internal feuding

We may wish it otherwise - I often do, bring back the British empire - but a mere British prime minister is arguably less powerful than a man like Musk
It is becoming increasingly clear that we have to decide between Europe, an alliance of equals, and poodle status with the US.

I don't particularly fancy being a pet dog.
    It really isn't.

The idea we need to choose between Europe or America is an utterly false dichotomy, we can instead just be ourselves.

He is indeed a muppet of the first water. Is this really the best we can do?

The Tories deserve to go extinct for the Boriswave. Not just lose an election. They need to die out completely. What they did is unforgivable

I want them replaced by reform ASAP and it seems a large chunk of the country agrees with me

How can they ever come back from what they did?
How many of the Boriswave were refugees from Ukraine and from Hong Kong?

Starting to get serious for Starmer.
Is it though? How easy it it for him to be removed? A Tory PM you could see falling over this, but Labour? A year after a crushing (if fluky) election win?

A straightforward response, and one less legally problematic, would be to bar him entry.
I suggested that. But it is not enough.
Of course not. But the idea that we could successfully prosecute him is slightly delusional.

He's not a "fit and proper person" to be running a major media company, either. But our powers to do something effective about that - especially now that we're outside the EU - are severely constrained.

A better reaction is the dismissive ridicule that he richly deserves, in this case.

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Kirk's pretty vicious anti-trans stuff was the motivation for this. But if it turns out it wasn't, this is now the third attempt to pin it on Trans. It's clearly the group they've identified as the easiest to ostracise.

A reform Tory coalition would be a pretty good outcome. But I’d want the Tories as junior partners. They just can’t be relied on re migration/asylum/woke

Lots of students, most who will go home and lots of workers (who will pay tax etc).
The tax paid by someone working for minimum wage doesn't cover their dependent kids education.

Which is why countries like Switzerland look to ensure migration is high-skilled, not minimum wage.

The most Burnham thing now would be for Stringer to stand down in Blackley and Middleton South, Burnham to quit as Mayor (to show his commitment) and get the nomination and lose leaving him out of politics and Labour absent a King Over Water

Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if Kirk's pretty vicious anti-trans stuff was the motivation for this. But if it turns out it wasn't, this is now the third attempt to pin it on Trans. It's clearly the group they've identified as the easiest to ostracise.

Such a relief that there’s no chance of that happening here.

Starting to get serious for Starmer.
I'd vaguely assumed that Mandelson's association with Epstein had been in the public domain for several years. Was this association completely unknown until the last few days?
It's the continued association after the conviction that is the new issue.

Starmer is now in very serious shit if this Times report stands.

I'm going in on 2025 leave date.
I just don’t see it. He’ll ride this out and the media will move onto something else . You’d need a host of cabinet resignations to really put him in any danger .
Given the very many MPs who must have expected they'd never get a sniff at promotion, he should be able to put bums on seats round the cabinet table for quite a while. It isn't as though there have been many bright-shining lights of competence so far.

A reform Tory coalition would be a pretty good outcome. But I’d want the Tories as junior partners. They just can’t be relied on re migration/asylum/woke
Either way around I think a 240/130 split would work so the smaller party still has an effective veto on policy and neither can survive alone. I actually don't think it makes too much difference who the larger party is other than PM. I don't think either of Kemi or Nige would be good at the job though.

The Guardian aerial footage of Tommy’s rally is startling It’s huge. Much bigger than I expected TBF

    Met police estimates around 110,000
Grok estimates at 200-500k in that video. Either way, it’s a big crowd.
    Grok. 'nuff said...
Grok is quite Woke despite all Elon’s desperate tweaks

So the guess is probably good

Surely by a massive distance the largest march for a “hard right” cause the UK has ever seen
It doesn’t look an unreasonable guess based upon the footage. Whether 200-500k should be considered a small protest or a large one, rather depends on your expectations I suppose. But it’s an odd and probably counter productive reaction to put your fingers in your ears and pretend it didn’t happen.
The organisers, left, right or batshit insane, of every match in London, claim that the Police estimate of the number of marchers is too low.

I don’t normally trust the police on many things, but the estimates of the numbers of people in each “area” on the street get fed into a computer program which is used to estimate/predict problems. Fiddling with those numbers is to fiddle with crowd safety.

So in the mind of any cop fiddling with those numbers or being asked to fiddle with them is Hillsborough.

“If you fiddle the numbers, you are taking on responsibility if some shit goes down”.

    And

“The SMT will let you swing in the wind if they can blame you”

    Millions?

It's just that 100,000 or so people in a confined area looks mind-boggling. Not the first time those streets have been thronged with people. The authorities must have a fairly good grasp of how many there are per acre or whatever.
