Wheels may be falling off at Tesla. A precipitous drop in sales across Europe (despite big increases in sales of EVs) in Jan25 vs Jan 24 https://www.ft.com/content/ea2329e4-b4bc-4e2d-be34-e9a8ea31129c

Musk needs to be careful that this doesn't become a trend. He may be less bothered by European sales, but will surely take notice in Murica. Sales dropping steeply in California too...

Move all their EU branches to East Germany and Hungary.

    It’s called Inheritance Tax planning.
You mean Starmer is subject to Mrs T's conceptual error of thinking the nation's finances are directly comparable with those of a family ?

I've thought for a few weeks that there's something different about Trump. He's still as bad as ever, but how he speaks and behaves isn't the same.

I think it's because of the assassination attempt.
He's confident. Really puffed up. Like the gangster who's just taken out all his competitors.

Sorry, not "like". He IS that.

It’s was very predictable which PBs would be susceptible to the ol’ Trump charm.

Disappointing to see sales dropping by a mere 8% in the UK.

    Do better, Britain!

We would be still paying money for it because we want to go on using it.

Interesting. There was a young guy who frequented my local pub back in my home town. Had always been a bit of a violent nutter. On one occasion he got up to the karaoke mike and started making racist rants about 'p*k*s' until the landlord told him to pipe down. Yet, a few years later, he was spotted hanging around with traditionally dressed young Muslim men. And after that he was pictured in The Mirror leading an anti-Covid-vaccine march in London.
Believe he now posts here as (censored).

You will know better, but I thought the UK, unlike the EU, did not have significant tariffs on Chinese EVs.

(Hence the farcical story about MoD buying a fleet of them and then advising staff not to discuss confidential matters while inside them.)

Crouch spills a Guinness down the jumper, which ruins it, and then wonders if this was his subconscious at work. Later he met Abbey who took care of all his styling needs.

    It's an interesting book.

Difficult to see you're in a madhouse from the inside. I suspect we won't agree, as you'd accuse me of the same.

Right about Badenoch though isn't it? You can more or less predict her PMQs or statements from whatever the week's big right-wing accounts' talking points on TwiX are that week, regardless if they are in her party's strategic interests, and without bothering to check if are potent criticisms or niche takes that haven't escaped that bubble.

Compare that to Farage, who appears to have a far healthier relationship with that place in terms of treating it as a useful megaphone for his established talking points, but not being lured into thinking the frenzied discourse on there is representative or matters.

Leon is at his best when writing vivaciously but thoughtfully about something he knows a lot about.

There was a particular post he did last October that was excellent. I can't recall exactly what it was about but it really hit the spot.

Sat in Tesla Aberdeen as my car gets a warranty repair. The new uglier Model Y is available for order but not being delivered until at least May. There are only 12 unallocated Model Y dual motor e cars left in the UK and they aren't getting any more. That means there will be a drop in sales simply because they have no vehicles to sell. Yes, they have stock on the single motor Y but the best seller is the dual motor.

Trump is a gobshite artist. Fabulous at politics - I give you that. But "save the mother country" means action is needed. And he's crap at that.

For the last 24 hours, she has just been lambasted for doing the exact opposite of what you are saying she does. She spent this weeks PMQ talking about oil fields in the North Sea, much to the despair of the 'right-wing accounts' talking points on TwiX ' who wanted her to talk about other stuff.

Musk has not Ratnered the brand, that's not the right term, but has surely alienated a lot of potential buyers. Who wants to own an expensive car whose image is no longer a cool, high tech way of saving whales but of a fascist-adjacent squillionaire lunatic?

What is your impression of Tesla cars? My mate's one was very badly screwed together. They all look ugly, and often plasticky as well.
