An inexperienced Secret Service agent was stuck on a drone helpline during the attempted assassination of Donald Trump at a rally, a Senate investigation has found.
The report also found that there was no clear chain of command among the Secret Service and other security agencies and no plan for coverage of the building. Officials were operating on multiple, separate radio channels, leading to missed communications.
Not exactly like the Hollywood movies / shows....Kiefer Sutherland stuck on the helpline to DJI...your call is important to us, please hold....tick tick tick...screen fades to timer....23hrs remain....will Keifer get through in time for dinner find out next week on the all new season of 24.
That report comes across really badly for USSS, to the point where the conspiracy theories will start to be thought of as plausible.

"Ha ha ha ha. Look at all those poor rich kids having their educations disrupted because they're having to move schools because of VAT on school fees."
(BTW, apparently the impact assessment on the change has not yet been done...)
Yeah that's exactly what everyone said. Or was it?
A possible problem with this is that it might be appealed to the Supreme Court in 1st Amendment grounds. And the current lot might well rule there's a right to such inflammatory lies by politicians ?
I think that may be a stretch. An action by private citizens against a man who has not been President since 2020 in a State Court.
But yes, the only way of guaranteeing Trump to be at least partially tried is for him not to be President.

Go back and read the conversations when @Casino_Royale said his child(/ren)'s school was closing. There was zero sympathy from a lot of people on here, and a heck of a lot of denial.

Hang on, the issue was that the reason given didn’t reflect the reality - that school had serious problems and the VAT change was the last straw not the primary cause.. my comment was that the school simply wasn’t being honest and the timing was very suspicious
As for these freebies, I can see why SKS does it but none of it is a great look and raises questions on his common sense if nothing else..
What I will say is that MP’s treatment of freebies is clearly to how other firms have reacted to the Bribery act so changes are required in a hurry.

With the exception of “Pack the Supreme Court” and “Federal Takeover of Elections”, they’re all things that Harris and senior Democrats are either doing now, have proposed in the past, or Harris has previously supported on tape. The phrases used are true whilst using the most unfavourable phrase possible, as with most political ads in the US.
I’m not sure where the other two come from, presumably some Dem think tank or politicians, in the same vein as the Project 2025 that the Democrats are doing their best to tie to Trump.

How far up has the stock market in general moved in the time that Twitter/X has fallen by 71%?
That's clever. Trump is trying to associate the GOP's unpopular Project 2025 with Kamala Harris.
Yes it is.
Trump seems to be, belatedly, upping his game,
Except, the Kamala Harris Project 2025 is a Republican fiction.
The Republican Project 2025 is a 900-page real thing. A project for autocracy - polling "lower than whale shit"...
I doubt the people this is aimed it will sit and think this. I suspect this ad will hit home with some of its target demographic. It does not have to be factually true. Exaggerations during elections are not unheard of. As we heard in the last election here. All parties were less than 100% factual.

But yes, the only way of guaranteeing Trump to be at least partially tried is for him not to be President.
Point being it's actionable, defamatory lies which have caused obvious harm (numerous bomb threats, for example) - but courts give a very wide discretion for what they see as political (and therefore protected) speech, lies or not. So it's not unlikely that a court sympathetic to Trump might rule against at the prosecution.

There were 30 flats at 60 Park Lane and many household names enjoyed his hospitality.“
There's a fair amount in there, but I'd say the main indictment is of the UK media, the Met Police, former Met and BBC staff, and aspects of the UK system. There are also questions about 'everyday' people willing to collude in silence.
How many more 'Al-Fayeds' are there still in place. hiding in plain sight?
Back in the early eighties, long before Fayed bought Harrods, his then PA and air stewardess, Penelope Simpson, told me that Friday nights were always “play night”. Fayed would get a call at the same time each week from a phonebox and a woman would make arrangements to drop off a young girl who would be paid in cash. “The teenage girls were clearly coming from a private school,” Simpson recalled. Fayed did like his victims to be well-spoken.

You're gentle on Loomer there. She used to work for Alex Jones at Infowars - a Loomertic.
I think the key thing on the Ohio case I mentioned is the next step in the process, when they gewt (or don't get) permission from the appropriate State Court to proceed with their action. That part of the process is analagous to the UK, where a private criminal action also requires "permission from the Court", aiui.
That's assuming that, unlike Great Jumping Jolyon on at least one occasion, they don't sink their own case by filing the paperwork one day late.
That growth agenda seems to be down the list of importance....France and Germany make sure he is included.

However I do hope he can find the sort of job he wants abroad as I suspect that's the best option for him.
As for the Telegraph piece... Written by a cad, my new favourite phrase.

As for Loomer, I started following her a week ago after the liberal media started running hit pieces on her for the crime of sharing a plane with Trump. She’s actually a proper journalist who’s been behind a number of recent stories unfavourable to Democrats. She’s an American Guido type.
And I think the answer is a firm yes.
But as I say, they were in the pay of Russia. Thanks for agreeing.

Russian propaganda you support and propagate.
Your position of supposedly being pro-Ukraine and pro-Trump is becoming increasingly farcical. I suggest if anyone is 'lying', it is you.

A simply moronic statement.
