Of course it is. Look at that chart that was posted about the recovery yesterday. Those tiny black bits are all the people who have actually 'felt' the recovery. They are the only voters with any real interest in maintaining the status quo. The entire vast mass of everyone else is there for the taking.isam said:

That is a good point: it depends on exactly how you sell, i.e. whether you are selling direct to the consumer, or are selling to (say) Amazon as a trade deal (i.e. they are your customer).DecrepitJohnL said:

Full devolution or independence is clearly at the end of the road, its just wasting time and p155ing everyone off taking time to get there.

Excuse my ignorance, but what law is this? Will it affect my e-book "An ever rolling stream."? The story of an alternative future where Jack Kennedy initiated WW3. Or will Wild Wolf Publishing pay?
Will my nascent writing career die stillborn?
Oh well, there goes my hopes of two nights in Butlins (Skegness) - the dream of my childhood.

Nevertheless I think anybody who mistakes it for a mosque needs a trip to Specsavers. The absence of a separate entrance for Ladies is a bit of a giveaway.

Interesting perspective on the Smith Commission and how it was watered down by the Tories - and Labour trying to aplly a sticking plaster:
"The decree on page 23 of the report that “MPs representing constituencies across the whole of the UK will continue to decide the UK’s Budget, including income tax” was described by one co-author as “utterly meaningless … inserted purely for the benefit of Labour” and “nothing to do with the remit” of the Smith Commission. “Nobody (on the Commission) wanted it there … but Labour needed it,” the source said."

Something which always depressed me when I practised in the Sheriff Criminal court was how rarely a Sheriff would contemplate that police officers could be bare faced liars and in the High Court the chance of a Judge believing it was even less likely. The reason I wasn't in the Grand Hotel in Brighton in 1984 was because my firm was involved in a series of major drugs trials. When several senior detectives gave perjured evidence (they would have had to be capable of seeing round the corner of a stone wall), the presiding judge refused to allow our counsel to lead evidence which suggested the police had committed perjury.0

Incidentally, even if it were (say) applied to Amazon and I were personally ok, the change would still shaft small businesses and those who sell directly to others via the internet. It's a massive steaming mountain of bullshit, whether it lands on me or not.0

I suspect that Ukip must peak soon. Certainly before they poll 100%, because the main parties are just realising that calling them all racist bigots is counter-productive. It took long enough to sink in, though, so it didn't say much for their IQs.
I exempt Mt Eagles as he's just enjoying himself.
I expected 10% to be the best Ukip could hope for in May 2015, so I can't claim to be a political genius either.

You need to check with Amazon. They must know the answer to this, and they already have to know the customer's country. It may be that they will deal with the whole thing for you, or alternatively that they can block customers from other EU countries.Morris_Dancer said:As for limiting it to Amazon UK (for example): a German can still buy things from Amazon UK. Incidentally I think that there were quite a few things wrong in that article Indigo linked to. Don't take it as definitive - for example, I think the author was confused about the distinction between the evidence needed to accept the default 'place of supply' rules, and the evidence needed to override the default.

Indeed - as discussed last night, the idea that MPs across the UK will not get to decide the UK's budget is pretty ridiculous. Those on here and elsewhere trying to portray that clause as a betrayal of England by Labour were being ever so slightly silly.Carnyx said:http://blogs.channel4.com/gary-gibbon-on-politics/breakneck-speed-uk-takes-shape/29731
And, of course, the Tories were not in a position to water anything down. It all had to be agreed. It's kind of hard to believe that the SNP, at least, would not be making hay on last minute changes forced through by the Tories if that had actually happened.

He also has to pay the VAT due to the German authorities, meaning he needs to register for VAT in Germany. In the UK however, as a VAT registered business, he will be able to register for the “Mini One Stop Shop” (MOSS), submit a return and pay the VAT due to them, and then MOSS will distribute it to each country."0 -

The interesting thing about the libel judgement is that it seems to reflect something suggested here at the time, which was that the cctv footage shown on Channel 4 did not, despite what was claimed, vindicate Mitchell.
From the BBC account: [The judge] described the MP's behaviour as "childish" and found his version of events was inconsistent with the CCTV recording from that evening.0 -

I expected 10% to be the best Ukip could hope for in May 2015, so I can't claim to be a political genius either.
They are averaging in the high teens, yet they have little or no representation in Wales and Scotland; indeed, they are virtually absent in some parts of England. You have to reckon that realistically they cannot possibly rise much above 20%, which of course gives them few if any seats on a crude Baxter extrapolation.
In practice, it would probably give them a dozen or more, some perhaps completely out of left field. Who knows, maybe Doncaster....Hallam....Witney?!

Hmmm, I'd take that with a pinch of salt, but if they target their resources sensibly a dozen ought to be well within reach.

"Strikingly, O’Flynn is insistent that, for now, the general election is more important for Ukip than an EU referendum. In the hunt for Westminster seats, it aims to create a ‘set of political ideas’ that commands the loyalty of 20 per cent of the electorate, with ‘concentrated clusters of support’. But then, ‘If you create for a referendum a brand that only commands 20 per cent support, you’re in a lot of trouble. So it’s a completely different challenge when we get to an in/out referendum.’ "0 -
