Morus has moved on to deal with moderation on a more trivial and childish scale than at pbc over at the FT

JohnO has invited me, and well I need to know, does the venue have a dress code?
I really think they should leave it there longer, perhaps until August 2015.
It would look wonderful with some snow or spring blossom.
Not had the time to book anywhere yet as I have been travelling a lot with work recently. There certainly wont be a dress code but outrageous shoes may be frowned upon.
I visited the poppies back in mid-October on a damp Sunday morning. Just me, Mrs Stodge and a couple of tourists. It wasn't complete but that didn't matter. The misty drizzle accentuated the poignancy.
My parents went the previous weekend and mum was in tears
As you say, a great piece of public art

Is bloody difficult to find comfortable shoes.
Like many mid sized Yorkshire towns its a deprived shithole with a few decaying Victorian buildings to remind of its former grandeur. On Friday and Saturday nights they become rather neanderthal.
But again like many mid sized Yorkshire towns the area around it is highly affluent and desirable.
For that reason Keighley is a Conservative constituency.
* In the same sense that Trigger used the "same" broom for many years, though I think there's still one original piece.
Because I have a tub full of old poppies going back a decade because
1) Throwing them away seems very disrespectful
2) Recycling them next year seems very tight.
For me, it brought home in way that statistics never have the sheer number of casualties: you could see a sea of individual poppies stretching into the horizon.
We then had a Solemn Requiem Mass today for the 30 members of my family who were killed in the Great War. Again, incredibly moving, albeit for different reasons.

@DouglasCarswell forgiven!
If I said Asian child rapists from Yorkshire, and gangs of Asian thugs from Yorkshire who beat up war veterans are two bunches of despicable c*nts, that would be a reasonable, non-nasty generalisation of those two groups.
But including near on half a million decent people in a sweeping and unpleasant generalisation, apparently just to make a point to another poster from that group who told a sick joke and refused to apologise, seems quite unnecessary.
2. Certainly. Scarcely will any opposition 'deserve' so little given their laziness and lack of inspiration in pursuit of calculated caution, but it isn't madness keeping them favourites right now.

@LordAshcroft it's any extraordinary poll. Suggests insurgents can hold off corporate parties....
As I pointed out at the time, this is the most comprehensive analysis yet of each party's prospects at the 2015 GE and for this alone he deserves to win PB.com's 2014 POTY award. Add in antifrank's contributions for the rest of the year (apart from his 3 month late summer absence) and he should be a shoo-in.
Or simply place them on the nearest war memorial.
Yet again on here the troller dog whistles and the one who hears it is criticised for responding
TSE would have been banned long ago if he was a mere mortal on here like the rest of us, the fact he gets away with some of the disgusting stuff he posts does this site no fav ours.
If he did point me to it and I'll have words with him as well.
Or did he make a joke in his usual way?
It you tread on someone's toes expect a slap
I don't need any assistance, if I'm the only one to criticise him on here so be it.
Racism is stupid, saying one part of the country is better than another is too... Childish nonsense that I shouldn't be drawn into. But trolling works unfortunately
Could we now give it a rest and talk about politics or betting or, indeed, poppies?
Why attach them, or indeed entirely innocent Muslims (there are some you know), to the crimes of the bad ones?
It's not that hard to be specific about which of the Yorkshire Asians you want to aim your vitriol at, nor that hard to include those in their community who let them get away with such despicable behaviour.
To not be specific makes whoever is making such lazy generalisations sound a bit, well, BNP. Even if they're definitely not racists.

What if it turns out top politicians just aren't very good at politics? None of the sofa gang have personally fought and won a swing seat
A load of employees moaning about immigrants at a rice factory owned by an Indian.
Priceless.
However, I see the point that part of the poignancy is the ephemeral nature of the poppy, here today, gone tomorrow and in memory of those 888,246 souls who had no tomorrow. I believe that the artist himself intended the display to be very temporary, just for that reason.
"Belgium already sends letters to jobless EU migrants who have failed the test demanding that they leave because they are imposing an “unreasonable burden”.
Under EU laws, those refusing to pursue employment opportunities can only stay in a country if they have “sufficient resources” — usually enough to cover rent and basic living costs. Otherwise they are denied the “right to reside”.
Likewise its curious that some people here regularly mention a UKIP nobody referring to another UKIP nobody as 'Ting Tong' but never mention John Prescott referring to Chuka Umunna as 'Chumbawamba'.
Clearly becoming Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, Leaders of the Opposition vs hundreds of other wannabes both who are MPs and don't climb the greasy pole and/or those who didn't even get selected or win an election = those things are irrelevant in being 'good at politics'
YouGov/Sun poll tonight - Labour lead by one: CON 33%, LAB 34%, LD 7%, UKIP 15%, GRN 6%
I have noticed the beeb seemed to shift to referring to the the Rotherham child rapists as "mostly of Pakistani origin", which is somewhat more accurate though they never mention their religion (is it assumed for Pakistanis?)
I'd like to make clear that I hope everyone will continue to make lazy generalisations about supporters of opposing political parties. Even if they call me rich (which I'm definitely not) because I'm a Tory
And with that, good night all ✌️
.
Go to bed mate before you make a complete fool of yourself.
I wonder what the reaction would be if a UKIP nobody called a black UKIP nobody 'Chumbawamba'.
Unfortunately, at present, for perfectly reasonable operational reasons, you have to change at Cornbrook to get to the city centre - not yet enough capacity in the city centre - but a slightly imperfect system way ahead of schedule surely much better than no system at all. Particularly one that stops 8 minutes walk from my house.
Mind you, the trams on that line are almost totally empty at the moment. But give it time. And it at least means - in contrast to the Altrincham line - that it's possible to get a seat.

Nope, bloke who has created a deliberately sexist character with a stupid catchphrase, isn't having his tv show, that nobody watched, renewed for a second season.
I also see Norman Lamb on the news saying the NHS needs yet more money despite the fact it has already been ringfenced and had no cuts at all. If anyone needs more money it is defence, local government, the police, legal aid, the arts, transport etc which have been cut back to the bone, the NHS has plenty of non-frontline spending which can be cut
I'll tell you, right back to their PPE echo chambers and metropolitan comfort zones.
Where they would tell themselves how brilliant they were and how thick and ungrateful the rest of the country was in not recognising that brilliance.
