Killer point, no?
I know what the subject is and who wrote it.
Mr. Eagles, thou art predictable.
What is a common starter at Christmas meals?
Melon.
I rest my case.
Is it the presence of Santa Claus?
Is it an uplifting moral?
Is it the existence of characters who think they deserve something for nothing?
Is it the presence of an older, overweight actor?
Is it the timing of the movie?
The setting also.
Die Hard is a weird exception in that there's no smug girl. Otherwise I'd have said a smug girl was essential. (Perhaps in life too
Empire Magazine not only had Die Hard as a Christmas film but, moreover, had a poll which showed it was the number 1 Christmas film of all time.
I assume this thread header is yet another sign that TSE dislikes both polls and experts.
#LFCFanTalking
Just watch the first three films of the franchise, films four and five are shite.
1-16 is the best price anyone is offering incase anyone wants free money.
"Die Hard is not a Xmas film?"
'Is a movie that takes place at Christmas time, but is not about Christmas itself, a Christmas movie'
Bear in mind my top 4 perfect films are Casablanca, Brief Encounter, Some Like It Hot and Dr Strangelove. With honourable mentions for Don’t Look Now, Cinema Paradiso and Godfather 1 & 2.
It....er, well, does not really seem to be for me .......

Quite the rollercoaster in the end...
In fact here;

And the question doesn't have the negative and potential double negative.
And Ode to Joy in the soundtraack.

!
(And yes it is a Christmas film; TSE is in a huff because he probably ate a pizza with pineapple a week ago and enjoyed it.)
The results were - interesting. Possibly too interesting to do them full justice in a thread header. They were also not quite what I had expected. However, I can see a few possible implications for the punters among us.
So I will see if I can pull something together over the next few days.

Die Hard is as Christmassy as Chris Rea's Driving Home for Christmas. The YouGov doesn't apply as Die Hard is about Christmas. It is about one cop saving the day to get home for Christmas.
(Apart from Brief Encounter, fine choices.)
OK GUYS, THIS THREAD IS ABOUT TO DISAPPEAR. I'M MOVING EVERYTHING OVER TO THE NEW SERVER, AND THIS IS COLLATERAL DAMAGE.
SORRY FOLKS
And it was due to Vanilla. (No great surprise.)
I'm reversing the changes and this should appear again to all momentarily...
I'm sure there's an analogy to be made about this upgrade and Brexit.
I'd ban all children from watching that film because I was driven up the wall with the conversation 'Daddy I want a real Mogwai for my birthday/Christmas present'
As far as I know...
Winter Wonderland
Christmas In Hollis
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let it Snow!
Jingle Bells
