With BoJo’s comments on fire-brigade cuts while he was Mayor going viral on social media and the assured visit to the Grenfell Tower scene by Corbyn yesterday there’s been a reaction on the PM after TMay betting market on Betfair.

Her performance at Grenfell towers is becoming an issue.
How do you solve a problem like Theresa?

Edit: That is how collapse happens.
May hangs around a little, then another Conservative becomes leader and, hence, PM.
Unless someone out there believes we should capitulate and pay this, that alone would tell you they are in no way serious and are in effect un-negotiable with.
So at least one price is wrong. Trouble is, I've no idea which. No bet for me.
The 'interview' of Andra Leadsom by the Sky News 'journalist' this morning was an absolute disgrace. The media are down there, actively stoking people's anger and playing on their grief.
It's become a truly unsightly witch hunt and I daresay much of the fair-minded public have already moved onto other things in their heads. The grief porn is tiresome.

Agreed.
Is there such a person?
Lordy me!
That bloody difficult woman may just;

I'm not saying it's likely though!
No Tory would vote against the Queen's Speech, if you ignore the Northern Irish the Tories have a majority of 3.
Corbyn would have to get all the other opposition parties to line up behind him and even if he could do that, some of the Ulster Unionists would also have to support him and that is inconceivable.
You sling mud.
They hunt witches.
The Tory leadership rules no longer permit a stalking horse.
Sinn Fein are absentees remember.
His secular sainthood is entirely secure until he achieves actual responsibility for doing stuff.

There's some truth in this as I've said on the earlier thread.
I don't believe May is some robot who doesn't care about the appalling events of this week. And the more important thing she can do in practice isn't to appear on camera putting her hands around shoulders. It's establishing a prompt, thorough inquiry, leaving no stone unturned, acting on all its recommendations, and (before it reports) on any steps needed to ensure the safety of others in tower blocks today. And I don't personally doubt her resolve to do that.
BUT... it still looks awful and illustrates her awful political judgment. The reason she didn't speak to residents yesterday isn't that she had to rush back to do the admin to set up a public inquiry. She just couldn't face what would be an incredibly uncomfortable, emotionally draining half hour with understandably angry people. It's not her strength and she was able to justify in her own mind not doing it. But you don't get to chose that as PM. You're the leader, people look to you, and you just have to grit your teeth and do it.
The really worrying thing that is going on is that it's part of May apparently believing she has control over everything. As Osborne put it, she's the Queen of Denial. She has to get over that really fast now and radically change her approach and personality if she's to have any chance of styling it out.

This will play into the narrative about how out of touch the Tory party is nowadays.
Rather than do their job and report, the media smell blood and are driving the agenda towards some sort of climactic event. They probably won't relent now until May is out, or Javid is fired etc.
There has to be some sacrifice to sate the media-inspired "public anger".
Britain, in 2017.
The Conservative party then have nearly seven weeks to sort out a new leader before parliament returns on 5th of September.
The new leader would then be appointed PM and if the Brexit talks are concluded quickly a another General Election can be called for the Autumn of 2018, the deal with the EU would be a major election issue.
If there's no deal before the end of March 2019 then we leave the EU without one and the next GE could be on the first Thursday in May.
I suppose it could be argued Khan bent over and took the spanking, whereas Mrs May didn't.
I suggest any Prime Minister would be finding these events uncomfortable. Let's face it Mr Javid and Mrs Leadson have both looked shaky too, and both at one time or another were seen as alternatives to Mrs May.
1) an emergency rehousing committee
2) an emergency programme to check every other block in the country
3) a review of firefighting measures with budgets for new equipment (it was reported a platform was sent to London from the Surrey brigade)
... all with a budget of x million quid and in association with relevant local authorities
The PM doesn't do emoting with victims, OK, but she needs to establish quickly that she and the government are back in control. In the absence of Nick and Fiona, I offer the above, three-step programme and expect an OBE in return.
The Tories face a nasty choice. Show loyalty and soldier onwards and downwards. Or be ruthless and get rid at the first sensible moment. As a Tory voter I know what I want. Replace her ASAP.
The right-wing media hate her because she lost the unlosable election.
Osborne hates her because he is a posh boy bully.
The left-wing media hate her because she is a Tory.
Theresa has to go because she has no friends left.
The Tories now need to show their famed ruthless streak and tell her she steps down in time for conference to elect a new leader.
Can't confirm the rumour that the stooge is IDS.
Problems with zero hours contracts should be addressed, the very idea of a zero hours contract by itself should not be.
She might get round to all that. In a few months.
But they will want to get a new leader before that conference if they decide not to stick with TM.
Waits for stampede from JohnO and AH Matlock ....
I doubt it will be Davis as he'll be the continuity with the Brexit talks, indeed the fact those are now off indicates to my mind that the new putative leaders won't rock that boat too much. Boris and Hammond I think might well be the final two, with Davis taking a senior role to either.
Of course that all might be completely wrong.
David Davis
Steve Baker
Dominic Raab
etc
There's any number of good, sensible and EMPATHETIC Tories to choose from.
