How difficult would it be for Theresa May to get round the Fixed Term Parliament Act if she wants to hold an election this year?0

@Charles - it could just be that quite a few people are beginning to realise that they are about to lose coverage.

That Trump polling isn't surprising, he lost the popular vote by nearly 3 million votes.
He was already unpopular.

Doubtless it could be done , but with such big Tory poll leads Corbyn would be bonkers to help her do it! I wouldn't even repeal it, I'd just have an act of parliament calling an election. A bit more straight forward, because all May has to do is call upon the LotO to explain why the people can't be trusted with "votes" on "who should run the country"TheScreamingEagles said:

The British National Party is now in control of a Essex parish council after picking up two seats in a by-election.
Standing under the bannerhead of Fighting Unsustainable Housing Because We Care, rather than explicitly running as BNP candidates, taxi drivers Trevor Cable and Ashley Jones were elected to Heybridge Parish Council with a combined 63 per cent of the vote.

She's not exactly keen on the Jews.
We had the greatest White Inventors, Manufacturers, Producers, Farmers, Skilled Workers, Labourers, Architects,Engineers, You name it, We White Germanic Europeans, were the supreme race, All over White Western Europe.
The illegal immigrant Israeli Jews didn’t like that, nor did the rest of the Islamic Asian Indian states. They wanted to be us, and were determined to take over our lands and culture by stealth.
So they married into as many White Wealthy families that they could find to give them white children and dominance over the lower classes with their nasty religion and Israeli Jewish terrorist Karl Marx political views.
Then using their wealth gained by marriage alone, they bought All Propaganda and Media. And that which they could not buy, they took control of by total management, employing only Jewish or those married to Jews, as employees. The British Broadcasting Corporation was a victim of this.
Then these Israeli Jewish Illegal Immigrants and Asylum Seekers, made Laws against us White UK Nationals, such as Anti-Semitic Laws, Racial Equality Laws, Anti Racist Laws.
They had the audacity to Imprison Us White UK Nationals, for speaking out against them in our own lands, which they now rule over.
I am going to kick out the whole manky lot, and take back control of the United Kingdom for us White Nationals.
And you White National Reporters who read this, must help me in this by-election on 23rd February to win this seat, so that I can begin to put my plans into action, even if it is under the Tory Government. At least I can help them to put a few things right before its my turn to be Prime Minister.

Not entirely sure how frequently radio signals are used as murder weapons, but this seems to be the only situation in which the death penalty would apply according to her manifesto

It's a terribly boring argument about what happens to the exercise of the royal prerogative, and if it can be revived once taken away. The 'left/right' axis is now obsolete. The tories are implementing large parts of Ed Millibands 2015 labour party manifesto.
