Does anything other than the virus situation genuinely really matter at the moment?

Currently, I honestly couldn't give a crap if Patel shouts and swears at her staff or what the Labour Leadership losers are up to.

Picard. That show is warming up nicely.
The first episode was god awful. Have not ventured further
Don't bother. It's terrible, I'm going to finish the first season because I'm invested now, but if I had known it was going to be this bad I wouldn't have bothered. There's no single thing that's bad and could easily be fixed, it's absolutely everything that's just awful.
I'm sure I heard that argument applied to EU membership...
That Juncker could be quite forthright when he'd had a couple.

I'm starting to wonder if it might be better off if Sanders is the nominee.

    * I want Trump to lose
    * I don't want Sanders to win
    * I don't think Sanders can beat Trump

So logically I want anyone but Sanders. But I don't think Biden will beat Trump either, so if the Democrats are going to lose either way then maybe this should be Sanders time to lose.

Its like the inverse of the GOP. The decent GOP candidates recently became nominees when the GOP had little chance of beating Obama (either McCain or Romney could have been a good President).

Just heard the latest Patel allegations relating to her behaviour while at DWP on BBC News. Utterly extraordinary. If there's any substance to them, she can't possibly survive.

I have no idea whether Patel survives or not, and she is not my idea for high office, but the combined attack from the left does make it look like there is a campaign to take her down due to her strong immigration and law and order views

If an unaccountable mandarin can take down an elected politician then that cannot be right without exceptional circumstances

We shall see but I do not expect labour to regain votes in the red wall seats on this
This is not about an attack from the 'left'. It's the sort of vile behaviour that should be regarded as intolerable in the case of any employee, never mind a government minister.
Ah that explains why Labour were so strong against Bercow when the bullying allegations emerged ...oh....wait.....
The bullying allegations were certainly much more legitimate reasons for forcing his resignation, and denying him a knighthood, than the fact of his being a remainer.

Similar to you - but I think Biden will beat Trump.

Patrick Stewart isn't Picard in it. He's a doddery old fool who looks sadly miscast.

    It just doesn't work.

He should have either made the series 5 years ago, or retired to an old people's home.

On the other hand, Jeri Ryan is stealing the show, so it's not all bad news.

What will it take for Hillary Clinton to fuck off on Betfair?

    Death?

If it is proven then she will have to resign and I have never been a fan of Patel

But I do not like a lynch mob and there are two sides to every story

I agree - the way we all rush to judgment on our opponents is a very unattractive feature of our system. The Government is evidently taking it seriously by ordering an investigation, and I see no reason to prejudge its outcome.

    I went:

    1 - Nandy
    2 - Starmer

    1 - Rayner
    2 - Allin-Kahn

I differ from you in one choice.

Wouldn't Nandy AND Rayner be a bit too much? Though I like them both.

Well thank goodness the nomination isn’t up to you....

Greetings from south Devon, where two school kids have been diagnosed as having picked up the virus on a trip to Italy.

Have to decide on 9th April whether we can the Dart Music Festival for this year. This news has not helped....

I agree but the Labour party beg to differ!

The speed of death in Seattle suggests to me delay in diagnosis. I think there is going to be quite a hotspot there.

It's so cool, and suggest a few days ago that there would be a substantial outbreak.
