Cutting your toenails?
If you knew Big_G better you'd know he has faced recent health challenges and an apology would set you in good light.
Up to you.
That is very kind of you and I can report that I have lost 14 kgs (2.20 stone) in the last 9 weeks and now feel much fitter, am controlling my diabetes, and am near the weight I was last at in my teens, 60 years ago
It has required a complete change in diet but was no more difficult than stopping smoking 15 years ago
Congrats! I was 23.5 stone at the start of April, and am now 5.5 stone lighter by the same method. Only 6 stone to go...
For the Tories - and effectively everyone else GE predictions based on current polling mean very little. As before everything depends mainly on the Brexit position after October - under either Boris or James. The other potential 'event' is with Corbyn - one finally senses that power may be ebbing away from him - and surely a more centrist Labour party would probably win.
"under either Boris or James" Do you mean James Hunt? The late 70's F1 World Champ?
There is no way, in any conceivable universe, that Boris Johnson is comparable to Niki Lauda. Except in the broad sense of "You see that Boris Johnson? Well, he's nowhere near as good as Niki Lauda. Like not even slightly."

Bloody fire hell that is some serious amount of weight in a very short period of time.
Sudden weight loss often follows cutting your toenails with a scythe (ht Nursie in Blackadder)

If you can, swimming helps. Your local council will have sessions where they lane off part of the pool and let people who aren't very fit swim up and down undisturbed by other people in the pool. It is a great way to lose weight and given your age and the more limited joint mobility of older people, it may be one of the better exercises for you. But check with your doctor.
New Statesman has an interesting YouGov "what if" Autumn GE poll:
Scenario: Boris leading Con with policy "No deal if necessary". All other parties' policies and leaders as at present (Swinson LD leader).
Result: LD 30, Con 24, BRX 19, Lab 17.
What a result that would be!
Electoral Calculus predicts that would result in:
Lib Dems 262 Cons 129 Lab 114 Brexit 83 SNP 41
Individual constituency results include Brexit taking Torfaen and Derbyshire North East and the Lib Dems taking Thanet South and Crewe & Nantwich. Oh, and the Lib Dems taking Islington North.

Yes - after I retired I did go swimming but recently my mobility has not been too great so have stepped up exercise by remodelling the garden

A badge of honour!
Nearly everyone agrees that breakfast is the first meal of the day. The confusion sets in after elevenses or mid-morning coffee and biscuits.
If you are a member of the lower classes or live outside London and the south-east, the midday meal is called dinner and is often the main meal of the day. But for the upper classes and metropolitans, the midday meal is called lunch and is usually quite light unless taken in a restaurant with friends or business associates.
In the evening, the lower classes and northerners come home from work, school or shopping and sit down to another fairly substantial meal called tea at about 6pm. However, the upper classes and southerners eat later and the meal they eat, called dinner, tends to be the main meal of the day.https://www.ft.com/tour.
Messrs G and Adams, those are some well impressive weight losses, of which you can be rightly proud! Do keep it up! Oh and it was dinner for me at midday in Lancashire, but up here in the far North of Geaordieland it is lunch. But, in both cases it is tea, of course.

And I am set in my new diet and intend keeping to it.
There's plenty of evidence "strong" men (whether it would be true of women I don't know) have plenty in common even if supposedly coming from different ideologies. The relations between high-ranking Nazis and Soviet sin the period 1939-41 were extremely cordial - those who worked for the likes of Himmler, Heydrich and Beria recognised and understood each other's methods and learnt from each other.
The ideology of terror is and has been similar the world over and the issues of authoritarian dictatorship common whatever the nature of the regime. I'm less surprised the likes of Trump, Putin, Xi Jingping and Kim Jong-Un get on well personally even if their officials don't.
The commonality of power and the desire to maintain that power overcomes all ideology and, by the way, it's true within democracies too. Parties will perform any and every volte face possible to remain in power.
If, as and when Williamson goes, the clear target will be an allotment lover from Islington - Williamson is the firewall, the longer the cult can keep him around, the longer JC is afforded a little protection. Once he is gone, there can only be one target. No wonder JC is doing everything possible.

"Dinner" is your largest meal of the day, whenever it takes place. Breakfasttime, Lunchtime and Teattime are the common periods when Dinner would be eaten, mostly only the last two. So your Dinner might also be your lunch, or your tea.

This isn't about the specifics of the case or a leadership contest
At the moment, Williamson is a very easy human shield to keep around. He is attracting much of the direct fire. Once he is gone, who else can Corbyn put up? No-one.
That is why the fight to keep him is real. Corbyn knows that without him, the focus will be on him and only him - unless he can find another (which could be Russell-Moyle - but wouldn't last long in the role)

PBers generally a sedentary bunch who are thus more likely to put on weight? It doesn't make sense to me either.
I've put a stone back on after losing 3.5, I do need to start being more disciplined. Hey, I did just go for a quick jog in the sweltering heat. I like to do shortish bursts.
Without being funny, as Williamson is one of the few MPs who would indeed be a worse leader than any others in the Commons, is it procedurally fair on him to have it restored, then withdrawn for the offence he was just given a warning about?

More to the point. Vaz wanted him to regain the Whip as MPs only have two weeks to announce they want to be reselected for GE.
Williamson can't if he has not got the Whip iirc.
Great news for the rest of the country. Terrible for anti-Semites everywhere.

I've put a stone back on after losing 3.5, I do need to start being more disciplined. Hey, I did just go for a quick jog in the sweltering heat. I like to do shortish bursts.
That's not fair. I go to the gym three or four times a week. But I like chocolate and wine too much.

One has to have at least one vice. If it must be food, there are worse ones to have.
If, as and when Williamson goes, the clear target will be an allotment lover from Islington - Williamson is the firewall, the longer the cult can keep him around, the longer JC is afforded a little protection. Once he is gone, there can only be one target. No wonder JC is doing everything possible.
The complaint is that Corbyn isn't interfering in the disciplinary process, confusing from the headlines I realise...
As for another leadership contest I don't think there are enough Labour MPs who are stupid enough to think it would work.
The focus has been on Corbyn for years, the Labour members don't really care what the right wing press claim, they actively dislike the likes of the Mail and the Sun. Corbyn would walk another contest with the members, which is why another coup is a non starter.

Top notch windows or an evening with Boris.
A finely balanced decision but I think you have called it right.
Toenails can wait.

Lib Dems 262
Cons 129
Lab 114
Brexit 83
SNP 41
Individual constituency results include Brexit taking Torfaen and Derbyshire North East and the Lib Dems taking Thanet South and Crewe & Nantwich. Oh, and the Lib Dems taking Islington North.
Only the working class call it tea.
If he becomes PM I will seek a private audience
I do agree though
32" waist, 2 hr half marathon or my recommended for my height BMI of 85.6 Kg (185 cm).
"Dinner" is the meal you have around noon
"Breakfast" is the cereal you eat before you go to work/school
"Supper" is the cereal you have before you go to bed
And everybody else is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Supper is the family evening meal at about 7pm.
Tea is what the working classes call their main evening meal because they used to clock off straight after 5.30pm come home and have something hot with a cup of tea about 6pm.
I am beyond angry with the idiots in the Labour membership who have saddled the country with this LOTO.
However, the upper classes and southerners eat later and the meal they eat, called dinner, tends to be the main meal of the day. https://www.ft.com/tour.

Oh and it was dinner for me at midday in Lancashire, but up here in the far North of Geaordieland it is lunch.
But, in both cases it is tea, of course.
I speak for the Northern working classes.
My paternal family all came from Rochdale and Bolton and it was always tea
And I am set in my new diet and intend keeping to it.
There's another YG with the Tories well ahead.

Pretty good with freshly baked bread and a bit of balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing.
David Lidington, Graham Brady, Jess Phillips, Dennis Skinner, Caroline Lucas, Anna Soubry (though her seat would be won by the Lib Dems), IDS, Theresa Villiers, Ed Miliband, Chris Grayling, Emily Thornberry, Keir Starmer, Yvette Cooper, Kenneth Clarke, Liam Fox, Jacob Rees-Mogg, Esther McVey and Steve Baker.
All three Brighton seats would go to the Lib Dems, as would both Bournemouth seats.
It would make "were you up for Portillo?" look humdrum.

Probably hold his seat even on those figures, if he were.

Is this a record?
Breakfasttime, Lunchtime and Teattime are the common periods when Dinner would be eaten, mostly only the last two. So your Dinner might also be your lunch, or your tea.
And you, sir, are the wrong one!

Williamson can't if he has not got the Whip iirc.
Great news for the rest of the country. Terrible for anti-Semites everywhere.

Dinner's at or around midday.
LibDem/BXP coalition, clearly.
I do hate exercise though.
NEW THREAD
But the secret of losing weight is big lunch, no (or little) dinner.
Then there is afternoon tea and high tea.
Dinner is for wimps.
Linford Christie's dinnerbox.
No it just doesn't work.
