Just as an aside, as the conversation appears to have vaguely drifted to the north, Sky's definition of the north effectively extends from a horizontal line from the southern tip of the Welsh border. Which is obviously wrong, (and mildly reminiscent of where Gladiators drew their line).

Indeed, we all know the north starts at the top of the M25!
They should have put Barrow and Carlisle on the list. In fact they should have moved Channel 4 to Barrow and shown the likes of Jon Snow what life is like in the bits of Britain no-one ever visits.
Come to think of it, that would make quite a good TV show. Moving a trendy tv company to some god-forsaken place in the back of beyond and seeing how they survive...... I might pitch it.

Got a bit of a ring to it.
I was thinking of a drama - with a satirical blackly humorous edge to it. Executives having to fly out of Walney Island, coming to terms with the concept of early closing of all shops on Wednesday afternoon and no hot food served anywhere after 8:30 pm. Of course the reality of life in such places is rather more subtle and interesting than some people in London sometimes assume ..... so it would not be quite as cartoonish as all that.

We would break them.... very little exciting has happened since Radio 1 switched to FM in the late 80s.
Maajid Nawaz would be a huge asset to Parliament. I’d love to see him stand in somewhere like Tower Hamlets or Rotherham.
Nawaz was selected in July 2013 to stand as the Liberal Democrat candidate for the marginal north London constituency of Hampstead and Kilburn, in which he came third

Pity about Newcastle/Gateshead.
