3 by-elections today: 1 in Redcar and 2 in Stamford.
Never had the pleasure of Redcar but Stamford is a jewel of a town, although it really should be annexed by Rutland as in former years when the parliamentary constituency comprised the two.

I'm afraid Redcar is less of a jewel. More of a coprolite.
EDIT: I did have one of the best fish and chips of my life there, however, so not *all* bad.

Stamford is a lovely little town indeed. Mrs Foxy was brought up there, and we got married at All Saints, with the first night of our honeymoon at Normanton on Rutland Water. We forgot our suitcase in my brothers car, so had to go down to breakfast with me in my wedding suit, and Mrs Foxy in her going away dress. A little formal perhaps!

One of the worst stretches of footpath in the country leads to Redcar from Middlesborough. It runs arrow-straight between a railway line and the various factories and steelworks. There are deep, boggy puddles, and it was just an absolute sh*t walk.
Evidently I'm not the only one to think so, as it's called the 'Black Path'.
It's actually part of an official trail: the Tees Way, I think, and it's now part of the England Coastal Path.
They’re not comparing like with like though, or they’re surprised that cashiers working 9-3 in a branch are mostly women whereas the 18-hour-a-day City boys are mostly, well, boys.
I'm looking forward to see the pay gap at Premier League clubs. Fun fact, Arsenal employ over 700 people.
From personal experience if I were advising Arsenal I'd tell them to use the modal average.
Unless you’re compiling the top 40 chart, a modal average is completely useless! At any Premier League Club it will be £7.50.
Sadly for us all we're not allowed to use modal averages.
It's clearly a feminist plot to undermine men is this gender pay audit.
Why is this coming in now, it sounds like one of Hattie Hatemen’s projects from 2009? We all know the numbers are completely meaningless, so what’s the point of it?
The brain child of Mrs May and Nick Timothy as part of their fairness agenda.
I think there's plan for racial pay audits too.
If you want to be fair, you need to compare like with like. I’m sure the male cashiers get paid the same as the female cashiers at the bank, and I’m sure a five year qualified solicitor earns the same as another five year qualified solicitor, irrespective of whether they’re male or female?
I'm not really keen on racial pay audits.
The non white English employees get paid a lot more than white English people.
Enoch was right, the darkies will have the whip hand over the whites. Small sample sizes really do play havoc in this.
This obsession with “identity” and putting people into brainless pigeon holes is a fad that can’t be over too soon.
Brexit was all about identity. Nothing is more "identity politics" than nationalism.
Depends whether it is civic nationalism or ethnonationalism.

At least you didn't have to go down to breakfast in your birthday suit.
Had an especially fine pint at the Finch's Arms at Hambleton on the Rutland Water Peninsula a few weeks back .... and then had another. Arched eyebrow from Mrs JackW ensued !!
@BBCkatyaadler: Danish PM @larsloekke tells me he’s in favour of ‘concrete action’ by EU, not just words of support for U.K. over #SalisburyChemicalAttack To be discussed at EU leaders’ summit next week
Vulgar old harpy is exceedingly offensive. Gavin Williamson is not old, he’s only got a few years on me!
It's an old insult that, it must have sounded better in Russian.
The Russian was базарная хабалка, which could alternatively be translated as fishwife, but also has a homophobic conotation if used about a man as хабалить means to talk in a camp way.

If true, that's actually quite clever to use her as the courier. So we will never find a record of someone passing through a port to investigate. Of course if it was in the luggage that does point back to where she set off from, rather than the origin of the nerve agent being local, but it's a good trade off for the Russians.
"The father in law of the Salisbury policeman who suffered the effects of the nerve agent used to poison Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter has criticised Jeremy Corbyn’s "mealy mouthed" response to the attack."

They are obviously tories or worse former tony Blair labour voters....
I always think of them as Stop the West, it sums up what they are really about.
And it’s all the Jews fault.....
I don't know where The Jews get the time to start all these wars, run the banking system, push their candidates to victory in all elections, rule the New World Order, and rig the Eurovision song contest. They must be knackered.

A bit of turbulence, the contents spill open - everyone on the plane dies. Nice.....
I don't understand where Israel even fits into this picture?!?
Israel always fits into the picture. Putin, Trump, May, Merkel are just puppets on strings being pulled by the Israelis.
The Jews control everything and keep the white man down.
The most interesting thing about anti-semitism, for me, is the way that it attracts followers from all over the political spectrum, and can be inspired by religion, or entirely secular.

Bizzarely among the jezza cult this while also screaming blue murder if anybody shows any sort of non-inclusive behaviour to other minority’s and LGBT groups.
FWIW, my in laws used to live in Stamford St Johns, then moved to St Georges.
Stamford St Johns is quite prosperous, St Georges rather more working class. It will be interesting where those kipper votes go, and to see how the LDs do in a seat (SSJ) that they used to hold.

Not quite as Tory as I excepted (my grandparents live in Stamford)

They multi-task.
If the Jews corner the pineapple pizza market then we chaps can say goodbye to foreskins .... not too sure todger off-cuts make for decent pizza but perhaps that's the Jewish route to world domination !!

My Father in Law was a lifelong Lib Dem. He was a lovely, rather idealistic dreamer. I cannot remember having a cross word with him. He used to leaflet in Stamford for the party.

Hopefully it inspires Mrs May to call an election.
