Will this 5% cap on profits by private sector apply to GPs?
    Now that would be something.

Companies will just pull out and put much more pressure on the NHS. Its madness. We need more private companies providing NHS treatment as they are so much better at it and do it much more efficiently. Having less will be a disaster
    Exhibit 1 Hinchinbrooke
What is your solution ? Rather than throwing rocks, tell us how a proper Labour government should do it.
Hinchingbrooke *was* how Labour did it.

I can't see even Labour lowering IHT to £200k.

Most likely freeze it to get more money via drag.

If Cons can get a majority at the next GE then it goes straight to a million.

    MMT?
    MMT ?
IHT tax cut for the rich paid for by the Magic Money Tree?
The rich ? Like almost everyone inside the M25 ?
A tax cut paid for by?
People pay taxes; they don't pay tax cuts.

People not getting free stuff aren't "paying" either way.
So if someone would currently pay £40k IHT (I think the T stands for Tax) and the Tories raise the IHT limit such that it reduces to Zero tax.

    Who makes up the £40k?

Benefit claimants out of the £12 Bn planned reductions?

Anyone who thinks cutting IHT during the next few years of austerity is the priority should take a serious look at themselves IMO

Thanks for 2 mentions, Ed Miliband. Only met once for all of 2 minutes when you embarrassed me with over the top flattery."

Extraordinary. Who but a fetid vulgarian would send a tweet like that?

"awfully sorry, my dear, but the latest cancer drug is unavailable because of the NHS profit cap."

This should unravel really quickly, and create a situation where Labour will look dangerous with the NHS.

    Do they think anything through?

DavidL: "One thing worth noting from Fisher's latest forecast is that swingback is over."
A rather odd comment by Fisher I thought at precisely the time when the Tories take a 2% lead over Labour, especially after nineteen successive weeks when the Red Team's share of the vote he applied had remained absolutely unchanged and in fact had only varied by 1% since early October last year.

What is this 2% lead of which you speak? I'm aware of two polls in the last couple of days that weren't a tie - one had Con+2, the other Lab +2. Everything else has been +1 to -1.

One way to raise more tax is to abolish non dom status and inherited non dom status. Makes the system fairer and less complicated. Also the VAT rebate for visitors should be abolished.

A man who in one minute has employed more people, paid more tax and negotiated more success than the entire front bench of the labour party have in their entire lives.

Mr. Floater, with a collapsed pyramid scheme.

Labour really are rather crap at thinking long term....... actually at looking at anything beyond short term advantage.

May I ask why the Tories are given such higher chances of doing better by the betting companies; It this a result of heavy betting for them and therefore betting companies shorten the odds and covering themselves or is it greater 'specialist knowledge' than just following opinion polls?
