He's right of course but that does not mean that these instruments are fit for modern day circumstances. I agree with him that we cannot lose our humanity or compassion but we still need to protect ourselves and our way of life. It isn't bigoted to think that the word 'marriage' or 'matrimony' refers properly to a ceremony and relationship between one man and one woman and can be so defined. Non partisanship and impartiality at the BBC is absolutely appropriate and very much in the spirit of Reithian values, unless of course one is Robbie Gibb, Tim Davie, Mason eulogising Farage after the Reform Conference or Kuennsberg idolising Johnson. Impartiality is good, so long as it it the right kind of impartiality. -
