And I'm someone with a record of voting for what could variously be described as the left/hard-left/far-left including for JC.
But I absolutely detest socialising with lefties (at least, from that part of the left-wing spectrum) because aside from the self-righteousness and smug certainties, the loon ratio (even if it's someone who is utterly reasonable about most of their positions, but has one or two "pet" topics) is infuriating.
I couldn't work out what the purpose was - a satirising of the right wing media's demonisation of Jezza? - but it did make me wonder how committed these people really were to politics and changing things or if it was just an opportunity for a bunch of 'artists' wanting to express themselves and their originality.
Though one of them reported some doubt on this point to me, bearing in mind everyone he could see at the demo was white, but (and I understand this is not especially representative of the force as a whole) quite a lot of the police officers present were from ethnic minority backgrounds.0 -

The basic premise is idiotic, the FBI want Apple to put a key under the door mat, and expect that key to be only used by nice people. If backdoors are made you can bet the Chinese and Russian state security apparatus will make full use of the facility. You can't create vulnerabilities in systems and then expect them to be only used by the good guys. If the bad guys used the same loopholes to gain access to your bank details and commit fraud or identity theft on a grand scale there would be hell to pay. Even were the FBI right (which they are not) it is surely the responsible case of an organisation like Apple to test fully in court the extent to which they give potential access to tens of millions of peoples personal details.0 -

Indeed. Although quite a few use a VPN because their ISP has stupid routing. If I used my ISP to talk to the UK directly I would route across the Pacific, land at San Francisco, route across the US, then across the Atlantic, and finally get to London. I think she's got a big problem. The latest Missouri, Illinois and Ohio polls are all sharply eating into her lead. Now Illinois will stay Democrat and Missouri will stay GOP in November (Most likely), but there are alot of other swing states up there. That's why this tuesday is so interesting.
