There does seem to have been a transition with the latest ones for those who do want some change to stop even pretending it is realistic they will achieve anything, to acknowledge there will be no change. And since presumably the collective public don't punish the reluctance to do anything, it would seem this is the way things will be for a long time. On a good note - Hurricane Joaquin is out in the Atlantic and won't make a US landfall - folks between DC and NY and New England can expect up to 2 feet of rain, and the ground is saturated.

Don't think I ever beat Civ (i.e. the original one) on Emperor. I did quite enjoy Civ 2, which ironed out some of the silly things in Civ but thought it was getting a bit complicated and fiddly with the extra features.0 -
Jeb Bush is the right person but in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think his low-key, thoughtful style is what the GOP needs for the general but it's ill-suited for this particular primary season. And he just can't help shooting himself in the foot at key moments. His response today to the latest school shooting ("stuff happens") is a perfect example of this. It also didn't help that it looked like he'd spent the last 24 hours drinking from the firehose.0
