Will Richard Burgon be our next Prime Minister? – politicalbetting.com
One name mooted as a candidate against Burnham was Richard Burgon, the MP for Leeds East and a former Corbynite frontbencher. Other names include Bell Ribeiro-Addy, Olivia Blake and Clive Lewis. None have indicated any desire to stand.

No.
Burnham would be bad enough.
Steeeting or Rayner would be worse.
But Richard Burgon?!!!!
Where it's 1st April every day ...
That's how much I hate them.
The country can’t afford a summer of introspection and Labour infighting. And no-one is going to ‘lend’ Burgon their vote to broaden the debate, like Beckett idiotically did for Corbyn. If Burnham wins the by-election convincingly, it’s in Labour’s and our national interest to get him into number ten swiftly so he can crack on with the job. Even ambitious young Wes realises that and will be taking his grandmother down from eBay and grovelling to secure himself a ticket back to the cabinet table.
Has a constituency ever been represented by a Deputy PM and a Prime Minister (excluding Limehouse)?
Wow.
Does politics get any more surreal ?
Murrell pleads guilty to embezzling £400,000+ from the SNP whilst married to Sturgeon who happened to be First Minister, and had no knowledge of it pitching the SNP into internal divisions and recriminations
Labour in civil war, with Burnham looking to oust Starmer and the left thinking Burgon may be the answer
Reform and Restore at each other's throats and Farage under investigation over the £5 million gift or whatever
The Greens unable to decide whether to fight Makerfield
Indeed we seem to be left with the conservatives, lib dems, and plaid as the only parties without internal divisions
Hur hur hur.
The LDs i suppose are at least basically holding position.
More than just a little bit of wishcasting on your part there Big_G.
Shocking!
As I explained before, selling your grandparents would incur massive capital gains liabilities.
You need to create Collateralised Elderly Relative Obligations (CERO), with physical delivery in a third party jurisdiction incurring no CGT. Then you trade them on an OTC market you step up.
He's got to be electionated first.
Burnham (assuming he is elected) will arrive as the great saviour, making the MPs feel good that he can turn things around. Starmer will be told 200 MPs are already signed up to Andy, with more to follow, and he'll say he will stand down once a new leader is in place. At which point the Left say they will give Andy a shot, and Wes says please give me a job Andy.

I hope Burnham wins but maybe not get ahead of the 18th June
Next up: Can Scotland win the World Cup? (Go on, I dare you.)
However, it's not a problem; as Burnham is King of the North he can be crowned.
Like Corbyn before them.
Masquerading as Labour MPs but in reality self deserving ego maniac tossers.
No hijacking of the Party
Hopefully no pillock suggesting the extreme left be allowed to break rules to get a nominee.
The last one out might as well leave the light on, it's doomed
Johnson counts as Boris then James Gordon Brown can. Preceded by James Callaghan and (James) Ramsay McDonald.
I get it being confused by the question, as the ones with the actual first name of James did not go by it so for most people asking it will be correct enough, but even its caveating is a bit odd - stating that several others have had James as part of their 'middle names - most notably James Ramsay MacDonald', suggesting its sources were not sure of the difference between a middle name and a first name that people just don't primarily use.
As for Big G's claim about "civil war", now that Burnham has found a potentially viable route to becoming PM and is pointing the way out of the morass that Starmer has got Labour into, in this neck of the woods the party on the ground is more united and with better morale than I've seen for a long while.
Politicians and actors not fans of the first name apparently.
How unlikely is that ?
Sheinbaum said her government had been approached by Fifa after the US made it clear it did not want Iran's squad to stay in the country during the tournament.
Clive Lewis is possibly the only one who could get sufficient nominations, but I don't think he'd make it.
I would be surprised if there were 80 MPs willing to nominate a representative of the socialist campaign group. Even if there were 80 of them we already know that plenty are on the Burnham bandwagon - Clive Lewis for example.
Coronated makes me think of Chicken. Either that famous chlorinated American stuff, or chicken smothered in that nice curry-mayonnaise coronation sauce.
I think I'm going to have to migrate north and/or uphill eventually.
Going to be a piece of cake.

If Burgon is on the ballot then my "Anyone but Burnham" philosophy will need a rethink.
One wonders if Johnston Carmichael, the former auditors hired Zippy, George and Bungle for a spot of auditing during the period in question.
