According to russian sources Ilya Remeslo has been "hospitalized in a psychiatric hospital".
He will probably commit "suicide" there.
Certain PBers shouldn't worry, I'm not going to take a knife to throat of any infidels.

Apparently he dared to have a forbidden opinion.

New York State Governor Kathy Hochul, 2026:
"I need people who are high net worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state. Now, there are some patriotic millionaires who stepped up. OK, cut me the checks if you want to be supportive, but maybe the first step should be go down to Palm Beach and see who you can bring back home."

He won’t be the first, he won’t be the last. Society gets the politicians it deserves.

I'm both glad and saddened about this. It has opened up a few stretches of coastline that were previously inaccessible, and made some other stretches much safer. But something has also been lost. When I did it over 20 years ago, I had to plan any of the stretches outside the SWCP and Cleveland Way. I'd study the 1:50k map each night, working out the 'best' route. People would often choose slightly different routes, especially in non-touristy areas. Do you walk along this beach at low tide, or trespass along the cliffs? Do you take that slightly less coastal path that goes into that village (which has a rather nice pub), or stick strictly to the coast?
At one point I had to hang off the side of a bridge to cross a river at Gibraltar Point (*); at another, I had to use a chainlink fence as a via ferrata where the path had disappeared due to erosion. I got lost many, many times and (ahem) trespassed frequently.
Now, it'll be easier, but some of the magic of walking the coast will have gone. It'll be less of an adventure, and that slightly saddens me. I also wonder if it'll actually make more people walk it, especially the non-touristy bits (e.g. the black path through Teeside).
(*) It's replacement will be accessible to walkers: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cgk2gj0xln0o
I don't know what they're generally like, but my wife started Uni this year after doing an Access course (self-study, online, as well as working) last year. She was advised before she started that, that if you can do well on the Access course you should be good for Uni and that the Access course is quite challenging. She said in hindsight she agrees with that, in part as was then working so juggling the course with her job, whereas now she's full-time doing her degree/placements, but that the Access course was good prep.
Don't know if all Access courses are similar or some are better than others.
People say "that guy's an arse".
Apparently that's an "attempt to cancel" him.
Other than one PBer calling for his immediate sacking (which will find some sympathy with the Tory MPs who lost their seats when May went to the polls in a campaign he helped manage), I wasn't aware anyone wanted him 'cancelled'.

Newsom’s reply was to post a meme accusing the young journalist of ‘looking for’ children, nudge nudge wink wink. “Hey can I see your kids?”
https://x.com/andy8671025/status/2033940952839065841 and Shirley’s reply got a 10-1 like ratio.
Now half the media has turned up to follow the story, and Newsom’s looking shady as anything.

Then there are the vast majority that were not good enough to get the right grades initially but can get the lower grades for the Access to HE courses and hope that will get them on the main course. At a Top 10 Uni like Bath (are you listening @HYUFD - we not a Russel Group but we are better than most of them) they don't cut it.
At some point I'll share a typical calculation that floors them. PBers will have no dificulty.
Seems unlikely.
Would Timothy had said anything if it was a Jewish or Sikh event ?
He clearly was picking on the Muslim community to score points with Reform voters . As for Badenochs speech this morning , a dreadful start with more attempts to suck up to Reform voters .

Access courses in my head (possibly just as its what my wife did) make sense for career changers, not people who are still in education. Perhaps I've misunderstood the point of them though.
She grew up abroad and has none of her paperwork from her school days, so she did everything from scratch. Paid to do a L2 Maths and English course, while working, then did her Access course while still working, and now at Uni.
Her policies so far are attractive including abolishing stamp duty and the farm tax, addressing student loans and helping young people, maximising revenue from the North Sea, and increasing defence spending, together with stopping the boats and controlling immigration
I would suggest that is where a lot of the country is at present

I doubt he made an utter arse of himself and I doubt he cares either way.
It’s a nothing story and typical of our politics. The Middle East is on fire and we are fucked if it goes on and this shit seems to trouble people.

Joking aside, one wonders if Dewi Evans had been brought in to look at the cases if he would have suspected foul play? There's a lot of baby deaths on that unit.
Nice to see, per the X comments, that, is it Leith or a smaller harbour?, now has a Great Pyramid too!

Not entirely surprisingly, they seem to be lying to him.
(I'm fairly sure this is parody.)
Shocked of Vauxhall writes:
“The 87 bus stop at Vauxhall frequently has a queue form up for its popular eastbound service towards Aldwych.
“I have just walked past Lucy Powell who was hovering near the entrance of the bus and studiously ignoring the long queue of more than 20 people, before hopping on after two or three people had boarded - scandalously queue jumping!”
She doesn’t seem the type !
Seems unlikely.
She should, of course, resign forthwith.
The politics of this was never about fairness, but about ownership of all the pain. All Kemi now needs to do is focus on: “what are you actually doing to fix the pain everyone is suffering” - and she mines a rich seam of votes flowing from Labour to the Conservatives.
{that is what she was doing with 6 questions last weeks PMQs, wasted 6 this week on something that doesn’t bring votes in}
Like this:
“Dithering for three weeks to send one boat to defend Cyprus. Too late to respond to the meningitis outbreak. Late granting our allies access to our bases. Dither, confusion and delay, in helping the British People with the rise in their energy costs. Mr Speaker - why does it take this government weeks of meetings after meetings to make a decision to cancel its hike in our Petrol Tax’s? Why can’t it just make the obvious decision, when I told them they had to last month!?”
And, come this autumns budget…
“Mr Speaker. Two and a half years ago the crisis on our cost of living was virtually won. Inflation was down, taxes were down, bills were down, cost of the weekly food shop was down, and the economy was going gangbusters. Just two and a half years of Labour government, and the country is in a recession. Inflation - UP! Unemployment - UP! Interest rates - UP! Mortgages - UP! Borrowing - UP! Taxes - UP! Bills - UP!
How much of that are they going to blame on everybody and everything else - how much are they prepared to own?”
Labours 1 disastrous term in office started drawing to an end today.
The pressure needs to come onto her to resign any roles in the party, as Rayner had to do.
What she has done is toxic to Labour.
When did the incident occur? When was the first time Downing Street was aware of this?
